Due to essential kitchen maintenance the kitchen will be closed all day both Monday and Tuesday next week (21st and 22nd)

The bar will still be open as usual and we hope to be back up and running as normal on Wednesday the 23rd.

🍽️ NEW MENU AT THE FOX & HOUNDS 🦊

We’re delighted to introduce our new menu at The Fox & Hounds, Riseley.

We’ve kept a few old favourites you know and love, given some of them a little refresh, and added plenty of new dishes for you to discover.

Expect proper country-pub food, with new favourites including slow-cooked pork belly, blade of beef and more hearty seasonal dishes — alongside a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options, so there’s something for everyone.

Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed lunch, a cosy dinner or simply a good meal with friends and family, we’d love you to come and try the new menu for yourselves.

You loved them last year, it made sense to get them back again. After the Riseley Show on Saturday 12th September we are blessed to welcome back the Bonas Brothers. They’re playing from 8-10PM, entry is completely free! Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Come on England!
The pub is showing the football tomorrow night. We’ll also be serving late food. Southern fried chicken and fries, order before kick off for it to be ready by half time. Order an hour before kick off for the start of the game. We’ll also have special drink offers on the night.

Next Thursday sees the return of the Pub Quiz at the Fox. This month’s theme is Britain Through The Ages. Teams of up to 8, £2 per person. Starts at 8PM. Hope to see you there. As it’s now getting rather popular, it’s advisable to book your table early.

Let’s see how it all goes…

Right, it looks like the "King of the North" is edging even closer to taking the top spot at Number 10! 🚪

So I’ve been reading up on the fine print of what Andy Burnham is promising us in hospitality if he manages to take over as Prime Minister! 📖🤓

He’s talking a big game!

Here is what he has publicly pledged to do for our sector:

🔴 Slash VAT for hospitality from 20% down to 10% to bring us in line with Europe. (Hallelujah!)

🔴 Wipe out business rates entirely for small independent venues. (Yes, please!).

🔴 Give a further 20% cut in rates for pubs and music venues. (Sign me up!)

🔴 Review the recent, punishing hike to Employer's National Insurance. (About bloody time!)

It all sounds like a lovely daydream, doesn't it? 💭

If he actually pulls it off, I might even crack a smile for a whole afternoon. 🤨

But we all know how politics works. 🤥

🤷‍♂️ It’s easy to promise the earth when you're campaigning, but what happens when you actually step through that famous front door?

🤷‍♂️ Do the small guys get forgotten the second the Treasury bigwigs start whispering in your ear?

🤷‍♂️ Does a "review" of National Insurance just end with a shrug and a "sorry, we need the cash"?

Andy, I’ve got this list printed out and pinned to my office wall! 📌

If you get the top job, I’m holding you to every 👏 single 👏 word 👏
