I wanted to share that I was on Irish Radio recently. I invited my mother to listen in from Co Clare. A day after the programme had aired, my mother texted me to confirm she had indeed heard the show. The hour long radio piece went live at 9 pm on Sunday evening. She told that she had taken herself off to bed. My mother's logic was that if she needed to nod off she was in the best place. I asked her, Well, Ma did you fall asleep? She informed me she didn't. In actual fact she had stayed awake through it all as it was quite "good". Was that nearly a compliment? Yes I'd say so but a heavily disguised one! Ah thanks Ma.

And this might make you smile. I was listening to it in our house in London. In the same room my son started cranking up the volume on his own programme on TV . I'm on the radio?...... I bossed. So??...came the unimpressed reply. That's how we roll around here... you'll never get too full of yourself in our house. 😆

The Irish phrase, don't run away with yourself, comes to mind. It's said when perhaps you get lofty notions at early success.

If nothing else it keeps your feet firmly on the ground. No bad thing.

This was true for her. A cricket queen. And now at beautiful rest.
