1000 Footsteps is an innovative foraging popup restaurant owned by a bestselling food writer and her partner, a chef, who live in the Brecon Beacons in Wales, UK. Combining the foraged foods and fresh fruits and vegetables grown within 1000 footsteps of their base, Liam and Adele believe that the best meal is the one picked fresh and served on a plate just a few minutes later. astronomic experience is more of a gig rather than just a meal; expect food from around the world served with botanical vodkas, wild champagnes and even home brewed sake. Scandinavian, Japanese, Thai and English flavours influence the 12 course taster menu along with Lebanese flatbreads, home cured fish , home-made cheese and Indonesian pickles. THE LLANDOVERY WAR MEMORIAL.
The granite stones were removed from here and moved to the existing extended site and were themselves replaced by the concrete pillars which remain to this day.
The land for the extended site was donated by Miss Lewis, Mile End Cottage.
The ‘Printing Office’ sign remains today.
Behind the war memorial can be seen Emlyn House which was a gents outfitters.
More names were added following World War II.
Research has found that there are a number of local names that were lost but are not showing on this Memorial. A huge amount of research was done in 2018 by members of Llandovery Museum (see Jane Carter’s post below).
