Established under the current management since 1997, The Wayfarer has a reputation for consistently good quality of food, drink and service. Cask ales are a high priority earning a place in the good beer guide for 2010, 2011 and 2012. There is a wide selection of dishes from light bites, pub classics and a la carte. Our new breakfast menu has arrived! 🍳🥓😍

Where to start... well, The Wayfarer Breakfast has had a revamp. It now includes our very own house cured bacon, new potato rosti made in house, black pudding made in house with Problem Child b**r, and our own delicious beef dripping toast.

There's a delicious new Wayfarer Benedict on hand rolled flatbread with streaky bacon, and, for those who like it a bit sweeter, a gorgeous Bread & Butter French Toast.

The new menu is out now! We serve breakfast Friday to Sunday, 10am - 12pm. Come and try something new this weekend!

We have autumnal evening craft workshops and some half-term activities for all as Mino Art School by Julia Pendlebury, The Craft Studio and Sorrel & Sage Florist join us to get cosy and/or spooky depending on your choice of fall vibes!

🦌 THIS THURSDAY 🦌

Create this beautiful, atmospheric stag in a relaxed and fully guided art workshop using charcoal and watercolour.

Working on a largescale on a heavyweight cartridge paper, you’ll build up your stag using layering, shading, smudging and expressive mark-making, before introducing watercolour to create that dramatic, smoky background.

No drawing is required! You’ll have a pre-drawn pencil grey image ready for you, so the whole evening can be spent enjoying the charcoal and watercolour process.

There are no complicated worksheets to decipher or lengthy instructions to follow on your own. Mino Art School by Julia Pendlebury will teach and demonstrate the techniques live throughout the evening, and you'll work through the piece together.

Julia will demonstrate each technique up close as you go, with plenty of individual help and one-to-one teaching from a qualified Art & Design teacher.

The process is wonderfully satisfying and relaxed, whether you have lots of art experience or haven’t picked up charcoal since school.

🍄Enchanted Autumn – Half-Term Painting at The Wayfarer, Parbold🦊 £10.80pp

Join us this October half term for a magical Enchanted Autumn painting session at The Wayfarer, Parbold. For all ages!

Choose from one of three glowing autumn paintings:
Sleeping Fox, Cat in the Woods, or Little Ghost.

Using inks and watercolours, we’ll explore rich seasonal colour, glowing moons, deep night skies, soft washes, wet-on-wet techniques, layered colour and expressive brushwork. Each painting has its own character, from cosy and whimsical to slightly mysterious and magical.

The session is fully guided throughout, with clear step-by-step teaching and close-up demonstrations, making it suitable for complete beginners as well as those who already enjoy painting. No pre-drawing is required — you’ll be shown how to build your picture from the first washes through to the finishing details, with plenty of help along the way.

Perfect for all ages and abilities, this is a relaxed and creative half-term session designed to be enjoyable, achievable and full of autumn atmosphere.

Monday 26th October

All materials are provided.

Taught by a qualified Art & Design teacher with over 25 years’ teaching experience.

Set in the beautiful countryside surroundings of The Wayfarer, Parbold, it’s a lovely place to make a little half-term outing of it. Enjoy the pub’s seasonal menu, then explore the surrounding countryside, local walks, galleries and nearby farms before or after your painting session.
