Best in Show at the RAC Concours!

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Royal Automobile Club Concours, yesterday saw its welcome return to Woodcote Park. Curated by Pendine was delighted to present two client cars on the concours lawn.

The Woodcote Trophy celebrates two-seater sports and sports-racing cars built before 1956 – and owners with a competitive spirit. The Jaguar C-Type XKC-044 certainly qualified, with exceptional period competition history and an owner who continues to enjoy the car as intended, most recently shipping it to the USA to compete in last summer’s Colorado Grand.

The judges – Leonora Martell-Surtees, daughter of Sir John Surtees and Richard Hammond clearly agreed, awarding the car Best in Class. The car caught the attention of Neil Fletcher and the whole judging panel with XKC-044 also being awarded Best in Show.

The second Pendine car on the lawn was the 1964 Abarth-Simca 2000 Corsa, which competed in the 1967 Targa Florio as car number 144, driven by Alfonso Vella. The car displayed in the Targa Florio class to mark the event’s 120th anniversary.

The owner was delighted to receive Runner-Up in class, behind the thoroughly deserving 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.8 RSR.

A huge thank you to our clients for giving us the privilege of sharing these remarkable cars and their stories.

We're delighted to congratulate one of our clients on receiving the Pioneers & Pre-War award at this year's Heveningham Concours with their exceptional 1928 Bugatti Type 37A.

Finding the right car took time. Working alongside James Mitchell, the owners spent several years searching before acquiring this remarkably original Type 37A in early 2025. With just four custodians from new, it is regarded as one of the most original examples in existence.

Having remained in a private collection from 1971 until 2025, Heveningham marked the car's first public appearance since its time in the Henri Malartre Museum during the 1960s. To see it recognised on its return to the concours lawn made the occasion all the more special.

Congratulations to the owners on a thoroughly deserved result, seen here receiving the award from Heveningham Concours Judges’ Chairman, Max Hunt.

Four Jaguar C-Types together is a rare enough sight. Seeing them driven and enjoyed as intended is rarer still.

Recently, Tony Purnell's beautifully restored blue and white C-Type joined three others at Bicester Motion, bringing together family, friends and fellow enthusiasts to celebrate the latest chapter in the car's remarkable story.

Special thanks to Richard Frankel for XKC-005, CKL Developments & Fiskens for XKC-006, Wrightson Automotive and the private collector that provided XKC-013.

FOR SALE: 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster

A matching numbers Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster in arguably the most desirable colour combination. What more could you ask for?

Chassis 1E 1283 is a well-known E-Type that has been restored and tastefully upgraded by renowned Jaguar specialist Classic Motor Cars.

Built for the Home Market and sold originally through Henleys London in June 1965 in Primrose Yellow over Black, this 4.2 Roadster was bought by Henry Pearman of Eagle Racing in the 1990s. He sold it to CMC, which carried out a full restoration and finished the car in Opalescent Dark Green over Suede Green.

Used as a demonstrator for CMC’s work, it was then gifted to the chairman’s brother, who used the car enthusiastically. Subtle upgrades include a twin radiator fan for cooling, chromed Competition Wire Wheels, uprated alternator, electronic ignition and CMC specification front torsion bars with a heavy-duty front anti-roll bar.

The car comes with its factory hard top, indoor car cover, and three extensive history files documenting its life, restoration and event attendance. Also included are two historic green logbooks that confirm its early life.

FOR SALE: 2010 Aston Martin DBS - Manual

A naturally aspirated V12. A six-speed manual gearbox. One of Aston Martin's finest modern designs.

Few grand tourers combine these ingredients quite so successfully as the DBS.

For the UK market, just 28 right-hand-drive DBS coupés were specified with both the desirable six-speed manual transmission and 2+2 seating configuration, making this one of the rarest variants of Aston Martin's flagship model.

Powered by a 510bhp 6.0-litre V12, the DBS blended immense performance with understated aggression. Wider bodywork, carbon ceramic brakes and a beautifully balanced chassis gave it the presence and capability expected of a car that would go on to star in two Bond films.

This 2010 example is finished in Storm Black, a deep metallic finish that reveals rich red undertones in certain light, over an Obsidian Black semi-aniline leather interior. Specification includes the 1,000-watt Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system with Apple CarPlay integration, carbon fibre fascia trim, Magnum Silver front meshes, silver seatbelts and polished alloy tread plates.

The car also benefits from full PPF protection and a comprehensive service history, including 14 service stamps from Aston Martin main dealers and respected specialists.

We are actively seeking similar modern Aston Martins and other collector-quality performance cars. If you are considering selling, we would be delighted to hear from you.

What a pleasure to showcase the Jaguar XJR-15 at the Supercar Driver Secret Meet at the home of British motorsport - Silverstone.

Chassis 48 XJR-15 was out on track alongside some of the most extraordinary and exclusive cars on the planet.

The display cars alone were worth the journey, but the action on the track was where the day truly came alive. Owners and spectators experienced the pure, animalistic sound of classic Formula One cars, all the way up to the technical and almost spaceship-like designs of the latest and greatest supercars.

It was an honour to be part of the hypercar parade in the XJR-15. A car conceived for the road, born from Le Mans racing, finding its place among modern giants and making a very strong case for itself.

The event appears to go from strength to strength and continues to attract some of the most exclusive supercars ever produced.

Where else might you find an Abarth Simca, a Porsche 924 Carrera GT, an Aston Martin DBS, an Ultima RS and a Jaguar XJR-15 under one roof?

When you walk through the doors of the Pendine showroom at The Blast House, at Bicester Motion, you’ll notice the sheer variety of cars on display – and our current line-up is no exception.

Each appeals to a different type of enthusiast, yet together they reflect something we see time and again: the best collections are rarely built to a formula. They are shaped by individual tastes, interests and experiences.

At Curated by Pendine, we believe collecting should be a personal journey. Whether that's acquiring a significant new addition, refining an existing collection, or simply making more time to enjoy the cars you already own.

If one of these cars has caught your eye, or you'd like to discuss the next chapter of your collection, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

SOLD: 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster

Produced between 1957 and 1963 as the open-top companion to the iconic 300SL Gullwing, the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster quickly established itself as one of the most desirable sports cars of its era. With just 1,858 examples built, it remains a true collector's dream. Renowned for its elegant design and advanced engineering, the 300SL Roadster continues to stand as an enduring symbol of automotive excellence.

Originally delivered to South Africa, this example is finished in its factory-correct DB180 Silver Grey Metallic over a red leather interior. The car later made its way to the United States, where a succession of enthusiastic custodians ensured it remained in exceptional condition through extensive maintenance, together with restoration work to the paintwork and upholstery.

Accompanied by a comprehensive history file, factory book pack, original tool roll and jack, this Roadster has now joined a private collection, where it will be enjoyed as intended on long-distance touring adventures.

We are actively seeking similar cars for our inventory. If you are considering selling, we would be delighted to hear from you.
