Participants learn about the traditional lanterns of Thailand before creating and decorating their own colourful lantern to take home. With guidance throughout the session, everyone can get creative using traditional-inspired colours, patterns and decorations.

Get ready for a fantastic day of music, family fun and international cuisine as the Carmen Community Initiative Annual Food Festival returns to Carrickmore, Co. Tyrone, on Sunday 27 September 2026, from 1pm–5pm.

This is much more than a local food event — it’s a celebration that brings the flavours of the world to rural Tyrone and is well worth travelling for! Expect an exciting variety of international and local food, with flavours inspired by cuisines from around the globe, alongside delicious street-food favourites and something to tempt every palate. A Taste of Omagh: A Celebration of Culture, Community and Connection

Friday 18 September 2026 in Omagh Community House, 2, Drumragh Avenue, Omagh | 6pm–9.00pm | FREE Event | All Welcome

FOCUS and Omagh Volunteer Centre are delighted to announce an exciting evening of music, dance, food, arts and culture as part of Culture Night 2026.

“A Taste of Omagh” will take place on Friday 18 September from 6.00pm to 9.00pm,in the Omagh Community House, bringing together people from across the local community to celebrate the rich diversity of cultures that make Omagh such a vibrant and welcoming place to live.

The event will provide an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together, share experiences and enjoy the sights, sounds and flavours of cultures from around the world.
An exciting programme of cultural activities will include:
• Drumragh Ukulele Band
• African Caribbean Dance Performance
• Songs from the Philippines
• Thai Arts and Crafts
• Food from Different Countries
A celebration of music, dance, food and community spirit
Visitors will be invited to experience a wonderful mix of cultural traditions through live performances, creative activities and delicious international cuisine.

The event is being organised and delivered jointly by FOCUS (Forum Omagh for Community Understanding and Support) and Omagh Volunteer Centre, with the aim of creating opportunities for people and communities to meet, connect and celebrate diversity.

The organisers hope that A Taste of Omagh will encourage conversation, friendship and greater understanding between people from different cultural backgrounds, reflecting the true spirit of Culture Night.
A spokesperson for the organisers said:
“Culture Night is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the many cultures, traditions and communities that contribute to life in Omagh. A Taste of Omagh is about bringing people together through the universal languages of music, dance, food and creativity. We want everyone to feel welcome and to enjoy discovering something new about their neighbours and the wider world.”

The event will be a colourful and welcoming celebration of diversity, showcasing the talents, traditions and contributions of local communities.
