Cadets and adults from 2nd Bn ACF and the CCF embarked on exercise Centurion Challenge a trek along Hadrian’s Wall from the West to the East, Bowness on Solway to Wallsend in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
A trek of 87 miles or 139Km, over a period of 6 days Sunday to Friday 23 August to 28 August.
They are raising funds for: Army Cadet Charitable Trust, The Samaritans and Beyond the Battlefield.
Alongside currently Marty Whyte is using the occasion to raise funds for Beyond the Battlefield and carrying a fridge on his back!
So far Marty has raised over £2700 on the just giving page.

We are selling these mugs and travel mugs in aid of our charity Beyond the Battlefield for £5 each. They can be purchased from any member of our Café staff Tuesday to Saturday 9.30 am to 4pm when we are open for breakfasts, lunches, teas, coffees, cold drinks, scones, traybakes and our delicious desserts.

Road users and other members of the public are advised of a planned parade, which is due to take place in Ballywalter on Monday, 13th July:

The parade will commence at 12.15pm and proceed along the following route -

Greyabbey Road - Main Street– Broadway – Dunover Road – Westland Road – Stump Road – Main Street – Well Road – Park Avenue – Greyabbey Road

The return parade will depart at 4:30pm and proceed along the following route -

Greyabbey Road - Main Street – Well Close – Well Road – Park Avenue – Greyabbey Road – Main Street

Parking is available for spectators at the field behind the Gospel Hall on Well Road.
