🐤💛 Work Experience Spotlight: JACOB!! ⭐️💫
We had another fantastic student with us before the holidays — Jacob — and he brought absolute chaos and craic in the best possible way 🥰
From the minute he stepped into the building, Jacob kept us laughing. He’s sharp‑witted, quick with a one‑liner, and has that brilliant dry humour that catches you off guard. The whole team adored him & he kept our Janice on her toes! 🤣🥰
But he didn’t just make us laugh — he worked incredibly hard and did genuinely brilliant:
• Kitchen skills — picking things up faster than we could show him
• Food prep tasks — from making potato bread to helping with daily jobs
• Making chocolate marshmallow skewers like a pro (and decorating them better than some of us!)
• Getting stuck into equipment safely and confidently
• Learning the Epos till system, taking orders & chatting to customers!
• Understanding how a busy kitchen runs — and keeping up with it
He asked great questions, paid attention, and brought such a good energy to the place. Honestly, it felt like he’d been part of the team for ages.
Jacob should be incredibly proud of himself — we certainly are!!!
Well done Jacob. You were a credit to yourself, your family & Limavady High School and we were delighted to have you as part of The Yellow Bird family 🐤💛
