Probably waited a little too long to give this one a proper introduction…

Sesame Crème Brûlée — our little take on a Hong Kong classic, inspired by the nostalgic flavours of black sesame soup. Roasted black sesame, silky crème brûlée on a sesame cake base,a crisp caramelised top and honey sesame drizzle.

It’s been quietly sitting on the menu, doing its thing.

Working with small-lot farmers means things can change. Harvests shift, lots come and go, and sometimes we have to say goodbye to a coffee we’ve really loved.

This time, our small twist comes from swapping Ombligon for Caturra. Same soul, slightly different character — bringing a little more nuttiness, fruitiness and balance to the cup.

And that’s the fun of working with small lots. Change is sometimes unavoidable, but it also opens up opportunities to discover new coffees, flavours and combinations along the way.

We’re really liking this one a lot, but we’d love to know what you think. 👀☕️

Meet July🍓

We wanted to make a dessert that feels like summer without being overly sweet.

Crisp macaron shells, strawberry Greek yoghurt buttercream for a little tang, fresh strawberries, and white chocolate to bring everything together.

A little pause before we brew again. ☕

We’ll be taking a short break from 6–10 July for a bit of self-care, to rest, recharge, and come back with fresh energy.

Thank you for all the support you’ve shown us over the past few months. Running BrewBlood is something we genuinely love, but every now and then, a proper break is exactly what’s needed.

We’ll be back behind the bar on 11 July, ready to welcome you with great coffee, fresh bakes, and the biggest smiles.

From the moment we reached out, your support and enthusiasm made everything feel that little bit easier. We’re incredibly grateful that you chose to be part of the evening.

There’s something special about seeing competitors, spectators, judges and friends all gathered together after the pours are done, sharing stories over good food. Your pizza helped create those moments.

p.s. we’re fairly certain some people came for the pizza and just happened to stay for the latte art competition.

To everyone who came along to watch, cheer, chat, and support — thank you.

A throwdown is nothing without the people around the stage. The applause after a great pour, the collective gasp when a pattern goes wrong, the conversations between rounds, and the encouragement given to complete strangers all helped create the atmosphere that made the night so special.

Whether you came to support a friend, learn a little more about coffee, or simply enjoy a pizza and a drink after work, we’re grateful you chose to spend your evening with us.

To all our competing baristas — thank you.

Thank you for signing up, stepping up to the stage, and putting yourselves out there. Whether it was your first throwdown or your fiftieth, we know it takes courage to pour in front of a crowd.

Some of you travelled a long way, some came straight from work, and some of you were probably questioning your life choices while pouring a swan (or turkey?) under pressure.

What made the evening special wasn’t who took home the prizes, but seeing so many people come together to share their love for the craft, cheer each other on, and celebrate the progress behind every pour. That said, congratulations to .pat, .explorer and Chris for taking home some cash and prizes on the night.

We hope you left feeling inspired, encouraged, and maybe with a few new friends too.

A huge thank you to our dearest judges — .jr_ , and — for travelling from near and far to spend the evening with us.

Thank you not only for judging, but for sharing your knowledge, experience, and passion with everyone in the room. One of the most rewarding parts of the night was hearing you explain what separates great latte art from good latte art — helping competitors and spectators alike see beyond the pattern itself and appreciate the skill, control, balance and intention behind every pour.

Your generosity with your time and expertise made the event so much more than a competition, and we’re incredibly grateful for it. 🖤☕️
