What an incredible turnout! Last Friday, over 160 of you joined us for the People’s Emergency Briefing at the Nairn Community & Arts Centre. For a wee town like Nairn, seeing that level of community support and engagement was incredible 💚

The film sparked so many vital conversations; in the café or out on the beach, folk were sharing thoughts, opinions, and reflections. It was clear how people were affected by both the film and the audience participation afterwards.

Now, we want to keep that momentum going and ask: What happens next? 🌍

We are hiring!💙

At The Highland Weigh, we are looking for a Barista/Sales Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks and other beverages, as well as providing exceptional customer service. This role will also include assisting other general duties as required.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and other beverages.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive customer experience
- Handle cash and other forms of payment accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, including the coffee bar, kitchen, and seating area
- Assist with delivering orders to tables.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including washing dishes and wiping down surfaces
- Stock and replenish inventory as needed
- Follow health and safety regulations and procedures at all times.
- Participate in training and development opportunities as required.

Desirable:
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage recipes
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Additional info:
- Full training is provided
- 4 or 8 hour contract available
- Please note, Monday/Tuesday availability is required for this position.
