October’s w**e of the month 🍷

As the darker evenings settle in, we’re pouring Lucien Lardy Beaujolais-Villages 2024 - a beautifully soft and juicy red made from 100% Gamay in the northern Beaujolais region of France. Expect bright red fruit, subtle floral notes, smooth tannins and a lovely freshness.

Lucien Lardy is an independent w**emaker based in Fleurie, working with old, carefully tended vines and bottling his own production. The vines used for this Beaujolais-Villages were planted in 1951, with the domaine following sustainable HVE practices that encourage biodiversity in the vineyards.

An easy-drinking red with a little more character behind it, just the thing for an autumn evening at Coorie Inn.

The Orchid Hunter’s Daughter by Jane Anderson takes us back to Scotland in 1867, following sixteen-year-old Iris Finlay as she comes to live at nearby Drummond Castle. Innerpeffray Library becomes an important part of her story, as friendship, botany and a mysterious rare orchid begin to intertw**e.

It’s the first book in the Innerpeffray: The Scottish Library Series - making it a particularly fitting read while staying at Coorie Inn and exploring some of the places that inspired its setting.
