Discover more about the lunar cycle and its different phases, how the moon can influence our everyday lives, and how working with its natural rhythms can encourage us to slow down, reconnect with ourselves and live a little more intentionally.

🍂 OUR SUMMER SEASON IS NEARLY OVER… 🍂

After another incredibly busy summer here at Allerford Tea Room, we’ve decided that our last full day of the summer season will be Thursday 8th October.

We’ve been working six days a week since April and, if we’re truthful, it’s starting to take its toll 😄😴 So we’re finishing our summer season a little earlier this year to enjoy some much-needed family time together ❤️

We’ll be back, refreshed and ready for the cosier months, on Friday 6th November with our winter hours:

☕ Fridays | 9am–4pm
🍳 Saturdays | 9am–12 noon

Our much-loved cooked breakfasts will be available both days, with light lunches on Fridays too.

Our winter opening will be a little different this year. With Connor’s rugby on Saturdays and Henry’s rugby on Sundays, we’re keeping our weekends more limited so we can still be there for the things that are important to us as a family 🏉❤️

There’ll still be plenty happening over winter! 🍂✨ We’ll have our Community Coffee Mornings on Fridays, wreath-making workshops and, after last year’s success, A Traditional Christmas in Allerford on Saturday 12th December 🎄 Make a note in the diary and bring your friends and family along!

Thank you so much to everyone who has visited us, supported us, recommended us, brought friends and family along, or simply popped in for a cuppa this summer ❤️

It’s been another wonderfully busy season and, as always, we couldn’t do it without you ❤️

There’s still plenty of time to visit us before Thursday 8th October! ☺️🍰☕️🍂

That’s right… this Friday is our final Pizza Night of the year 😭🍕

🪨 MORE BATTLES WITH THE STONE OF ALLERFORD… 🪨

The attempts keep coming and the Stone has been keeping us VERY entertained 😁💪

So far, 16 people have stepped up to take on our 123kg Stone of Allerford…

🏆 5 successful lifts
😬 11 unsuccessful attempts
🪨 1 VERY stubborn stone

Some have made it look almost easy… others have discovered pretty quickly that 123kg of Exmoor stone does NOT want to leave the ground 🤭

At the moment, the Stone is definitely winning…..😁

But successful or not, we absolutely love seeing people step up and give it a go!

🐾🏆 PAWS OF FAME - WE HAVE A WINNER! 🏆🐾

After one of the closest Paws of Fame votes we’ve EVER had… BERTIE has done it! 🎉🐶❤️

It went right down to the wire, with the lead changing hands and at times just ONE VOTE separating the top two!

But the votes have been counted and we can officially announce…

🏆🐾 BERTIE IS AUGUST’S PAWS OF FAME WINNER! 🐾🏆

Bertie will now take his well-earned place on our Paws of Fame wall here at Allerford Tea Room & Gardens and receive a bottle of Bottom Sniffer dog beer on his next visit! 🍺🐶

And that’s not all…

As an August winner, Bertie has also earned his place in our CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS vote at the end of the year, where all our monthly Paws of Fame winners will go head-to-head to crown our 2026 Paws of Fame Champion! 👑🐾

🌿 BANK HOLIDAY IN ALLERFORD 🌿

A little sunshine, a little rain… it wouldn’t be a Bank Holiday weekend without both! 🤭

We’re open from 10am–4pm today, so if you’re out exploring Exmoor, pop in and see us.

Find a sunny spell and settle into one of our gardens, or when the next shower rolls through, retreat inside with a hot coffee and something freshly baked ☕️❤️

Today we’ve got Porky Ploughman’s on the specials, freshly baked plain, fruit and cheese & herb scones, plenty of freshly baked cakes (including Gluten Free), local ales, cider and lots more.

And so, a new Allerford legend begins…

In the garden now rests a stone weighing 123kg.

Across Britain and beyond, lifting stones have tested the strength of those willing to take them on for generations.

And now, Allerford has one of its own.

Some will try.
Some will fail.
And those who succeed will have their names written into The Stone of Allerford Register, there to remain alongside those who lift it after them.

Perhaps, in years to come, stories will be told of who lifted the stone, who came close, and who travelled from far away just to try.

Every legend has to begin somewhere - ours begins here🪨
