It's October and the heater's on.

A Nova Titan pergola in Woodford, Stockport, fitted on 8 October: 4m x 3m, with two fixed louvred side panels, a pull-down privacy screen and a 2kW Nova Hestia infrared heater. The patio was bare at 09:31 and it was finished by 13:35 the same day.

What went in:
- A louvred roof that opens and closes
- Two fixed louvred side panels
- A pull-down privacy screen
- A 2kW infrared heater, so the garden stays in use through autumn

Another of our favourites this summer.

Two Nova Titan pergolas in Heywood, fitted end to end along one long deck: a 4m x 2.4m and a 3m x 2.4m. The deck was bare at 09:12 and both were finished by 12:16 the same morning.

What went in:
- Two louvred roofs that open and close
- Six pull-down privacy screens

One garden in Droylsden, one Thursday in July, start to finish.

09:35, dust sheets down. 15:07, furniture back in, under a roof that opens and closes, with the lights on.

What went in: a Nova Titan Plus LED pergola, 4m x 3m, with motorised louvres you run from the remote, built-in LED lighting, glass sliding doors on two sides and a pull-down privacy screen on the third.

New from us this year: conservatory roof conversions. Fully bespoke, no kits. This is one we completed in September, in Marple Bridge.

If a conservatory is too hot in July and too cold in January, it's rarely the room. It's the roof. So we took this one's glass roof off and built an insulated, tiled roof in its place. The photos show it happening, step by step, and the times on them are the real ones.

Why no kits? No two conservatories are quite the same, and older ones settle. So we don't bring a pre-cut roof and make it fit. We measure yours, then cut and build it on site:

• A timber ring beam first, to carry the new roof
• A frame cut on site from structural timber
• 150mm of insulation: 100mm between the rafters, 50mm under them
• A plywood deck and lightweight slate tiles, with rooflights planned in (three on this one)
• A plastered ceiling with downlights

Your frames, glass and doors stay where they are. Nothing is tiled over the old roof. It all comes off.

What you get is a room that's warm in winter, comfortable in summer and quiet in the rain. We handle the building control side, and you get the certificate for your file.

This one is plastered, lit and ready to decorate. Photos of the finished room to follow once it's painted.

One of our favourites this summer.

A 5.3m x 3.6m Nova Titan pergola in Stoke-on-Trent. The deck was bare at 10:23 and the pergola was finished by 15:20 the same day.

What went in:
- A louvred roof that opens and closes
- Four pull-down privacy screens
- Two vertical louvre side panels

We haven't posted since June. Here's where we were instead.

Since then, our pergolas have gone up in more than 20 gardens, more have been delivered supply only as far as Glasgow and Swansea, and we've started something new: conservatory roof conversions.

A few of them are in the photos: Sandbach, Droylsden, Rochdale, Rotherham, Leek and Congleton. The Sandbach one went from parts on the lawn to ready to sit under by lunchtime.
