The People Behind Every Plate | Part 8🍸✨

Meet Guru, our Bar Manager at Pahli Hill Bandra Bhai. From studying Computer Science to finding his way into hospitality, his journey is a reminder that sometimes the most unexpected paths lead to the right place.
He studied computer science but instead of solving bugs, Guru found his place behind the bar.
Now, he’s all about great drinks, good conversations, and memorable experiences.

At Pahli Hill Bandra Bhai, every dish and drink is a testament to the individuals who create it, and this series aims to highlight their compelling stories. 💖

The Hidden Truth of the Hospitality Industry 🍽️✨

Following Brexit, London lost nearly 200,000 skilled hospitality workers. To adapt, the industry started hiring eager, hungry individuals from diverse backgrounds people picking up plates and flipping glasses while searching for their next move.

However, many treat this work as just a "waiting room" or a temporary gig, overlooking the respect this craft truly deserves.

Just like you can’t run a cybersecurity system while skipping critical steps or write functional code missing key semicolons, you cannot approach a table and ignore the essential steps of service.

The rules are the same, the game is just different. It’s time we respect the craft. 🙌

Hospitality is a real craft one built on skill, discipline, creativity, and people.

At Pali Hill, we look beyond the résumé. We look for people who are truly good at their craft, take pride in what they do, and bring their own artistry to the table.

Because great hospitality starts with great people.

What makes a tandoor taste like a tandoor? 🔥
It’s the heat. The roast. The char. And the craft that brings them together.

At Pahli Hill, cooking with fire is at the heart of how we build flavour from golden, beautifully browned crusts to those smoky, charred edges that make every bite more memorable.
The craft of the tandoor, the Pahli Hill way.✨

There’s a theory about the first bite ✨
That before the second, your mind has already decided.

Our Benne Dosa Tacos come in two distinct expressions, spiced pulled lamb and chilli cheese both built around a crisp, buttery dosa and served with cooling coconut and tangy tomato chutneys.

Familiar at first. Unexpected by the end.
Perhaps that’s the point: at Pahli Hill, tradition is rarely quite what you expect it to be.
Come for the familiar. Stay for the twist.
