On Saturday 7th December 2024, Aldringham Tea Room held its second, ‘Tea Tasting’ event which, like the first, was informative and enjoyed by all.
There was a wide range of different teas from around the World provided, which were blind tested: four UK blended breakfast teas; four black teas; four green teas and a range of four others. So there was a lot for everyone’s taste buds to get their heads around and discover.
A brief history was provided to demonstrate the power and the dark side of the tea World. Also there was a guide on how to taste teas. As well as that, an example of some of the many traditional unblended teas was provided. An insight was given into what makes a white tea different to green or black teas, even though they all come from the same plant. So the event was a wholesome insight based around a broad sample taken from the huge range of traditional World teas available on the market.
The joy of blind tasting was in finding out that everyone’s favourite tea was not what they usually buy. How beneficial is that?
