Gascoigne House Extra Care Gascoigne House is a purpose-built scheme for people usually age 55+ with care and support needs.

Extra care provides housing care and support all under one roof. Individuals and couples with differing care needs will be able to live independently in their own homes with planned care and 24/7 emergency support on site should they need it. Gascoigne House has 60 spacious 1 and 2 bedroom apartments available to rent from Leeds City Council. The apartments are designed to be adapted to suit people’s needs as they change and have an open plan kitchen and lounge, with a large wet room style shower room. The openings and turnings throughout the apartment and whole building are wheelchair accessible.

This week is “know your number week” we once again welcomed the ladies from Health for All - Middleton Family Centre who kindly did some blood pressure checks on our residents, you will be please to hear they all did great. 'You know your age, but do you know your numbers?'. Whether you are 20 to 80 years old, you could be living with undiagnosed high blood pressure so go and get tested today.

Thanks again to Liz for supporting at our memory cafe today, our residents enjoyed reminiscing about their first jobs, we did a very good picture quiz about different types of dogs. Played the price is right and even had a bit of time for a couple of word games.

We had a very special visitor today who brought a very special gift for one of our residents. bestselling Leeds born and based author brought the second book in the series based in a care home in Middleton called Brandling House.

Lee has dedicated “From a Well-Wisher” to our very own resident, KI as well as including K surreptitiously in the book.

Lee presented K with his own copy this afternoon. Thank you Lee for this, as you saw K was thrilled.

Today we had a little bit of fun at our coffee afternoon, our residents were challenged to make the highest structure they could out of dried spaghetti and marshmallows.
