Long post!!!!
As most of you are aware we started this business (tracy and Ria / mum and daughter) around 6 years ago.
Ria was very young at 21 and as we know people change especially from ages 20 to 30.
After 6 hard but glorious years of making some of the best vegan grub I’ve ever had, Ria wants to change direction in her life- she’s at the age where it’s a now or never situation I suppose?
Ria wants to work with children, specifically kids with additional needs and she’s wanted to do that for a while now. After a heart to heart and some soul searching she has decided to leave scoffs. I’m obviously gutted, but I’m also proud of her for what she’s helped achieve and also for having the gumption to start over in a new career.
Obviously that’s made me look at big scoffs in a way I never wanted to, can I do this on my own? In this space?
In addition to that, You have all witnessed me moaning and whining about business rates going up and Andy Burnham being slow on making that better for hospitality on the whole, added with rising staffing costs etc etc I could go on and on , I won’t!
I stand by my decision that little scoffs was too small but big scoffs all though not too big, is configured wrong for me to run it with my eyes everywhere as they should be as a business owner
Long story short is
Rias leaving and I’m relocating!
I have been looking for suitable premises in an area where I think will do better with local footfall as Horsforth doesn’t seem to be that in all honesty
This business is built by vegans, for the vegans however it would be nice if we could get the locals on side and we would have been able to open more hours and make this restaurant more viable! But alas they are not on side and make a quick exit as soon as they find out it’s vegan!
I’m absolutely determined to make scoffs a long term success, I’m a committed vegan and equally stubborn
This is my absolute best chance to get this right!
The new location won’t be far from here I can’t say where yet as it’s not set in stone
Big scoffs is actively on the market but I am not selling Scoffs the brand, just a really well fit out kitchen and restaurant ready to go
