For anyone who misses our old classes - why don't you give Nic's classes a try in half term or during the summer holidays? Hope everyone is well 😊

Only one week to go until we welcome all of the chefs of to join us over at Bexley Grammar School! We are so excited to cook up a storm with you.

Just a few pointers for parents:

Data collection-I have had major issues with data collection so I apologise to those that have been able to submit their child’s information to me; I am going to need you to complete a paper version when you arrive at the start of your workshop, but it won’t take more than a couple of minutes!

Allergies- if your child has an allergy, please note that I will need to speak to you to ensure all information has been handed over before you sign your child in. They will also have their own station and ingredients and if necessary, an allergy sticker on their name badge so that all staff are aware.

Please ensure that your child attends with plenty of tupperware to carry their food home in as I have very limited resources in this area in the hope of doing our bit for the planet.

If your child needs to carry any medication with them, this MUST be clearly labelled and handed to staff with clear instructions before signing in your child, please also ensure that you remember to take it with you at the end of the session as well.

A reminder that we will be using heat and very sharp knives from the beginning of the workshop. They will be under very close supervision at all times and will be reminded of the rules of working safely in the kitchen.

Menu- we will be making our own pizzas from scratch. This will include measuring everything out, proving the dough, making the sauce, prepping all toppings and then ending with making cookie dough to take home and enjoy with family. They will also have some extra pizza dough to cook at home!

Hi all, I hope you're well! Unfortunately I didn't manage to find anyone to take on Talia's and I think Covid has played a big part in that. However, I'm now thinking that perhaps I could carry it on remotely by doing some video bake along type activities. Let me know if you think your child would be interested and what sort of thing you'd like to see. Thanks, Natalie ###

As you are aware, I am moving away and will no longer be running the Bexley classes but I will be opening in our new location. I've had so many messages from parents whose children would love to carry on and a few people who have shown an interest in taking over. I am now looking into selling a Bexley franchise of Talia's Kitchen so classes can carry on. Although I ran classes from home, it could easily be run from a hired premesis. If you or anyone you know would be interested in taking over please send me a message and we can see if we can keep Bexley children baking!

So... I've been putting off writing this post as it's a bit of a sad one but unfortunately I won't be doing any more Talia's Kitchen sessions. My family and I are moving out of the area and it's all happened a little more quickly than we'd planned but we've been lucky enough to secure a space at a new school for Luca which means we need to speed things up a bit to start him in a new school year, rather than mid term. I was really hoping to get a few more weeks or months in before but unfortunately Coronavirus had other plans.

I'd really like to thank every single one of the families who have supported my little business over the last few years. When I started it I had no idea that it would be as popular as it was and I've loved every minute of cooking with your children.

I would love to continue to hear about and see pictures of all the baking that your children get up to so please feel free to message me or post here as I'm always so proud of everything they make.

Hi all, I hope you're all well! If you're looking for something to do to brighten up this rainy week, here's my favourite ever cookie recipe for you! I've made a few batches of these to safely deliver to people this week for birthdays and of course made myself a few sneaky ones just as testers 😉. The recipe says baking block but normal butter should be just fine!

If you fancy a bit of weekend baking or planning ahead for next week, why not try my rainbow biscuit recipe? My weekly sessions know this as our unicorn p**p biscuits!

The dough seems quite dry at first but use your hands to bring the dough together and only add 1 tsp of milk at a time at the end if you really need it. The dough shouldn't be sticky! It will depend on the butter you use as to whether it will need the extra milk or not.

I love seeing the bakes that everyone has been making at home over the last few weeks, thank you everyone who has sent me pictures! Look at this beautiful cake made by one of the girls who comes to my weekly sessions, she made her own 11th birthday cake. Didn't she do a brilliant job! Happy Birthday, I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday!

How is everyone doing? I hope you're all well!
Thank you so much to everyone who posted or sent me pictures of their apple crumble cookies last week - it's lovely to see you all baking! Here is another free recipe for you to try this week. Yummy fruity flapjacks. The good thing about these is you can add anything you like to them. I added mixed dried berries but you could add nuts, seeds or even chocolate chips! I use baking block instead of butter but either should work just fine. Please continue to upload or send me pictures of your bakes :-) xx

I've had a few requests for recipes this week to keep everyone cooking while they're at home. Most of my recipes are dairy and egg free so hopefully you will have lots of the ingredients at home already. I use baking block and plant milks for mine as they are dairy free but I'm sure normal butter and milk would work well too.

I will post some of my recipes every few days here and if you get time to make them please upload pictures on here or tag my page in your posts!

P.s. I had a great tip that if you don't have apple puree to hand, you can make your own by chopping a peeled apple into small pieces and boiling until soft in a small amount of water and then blending until smooth.

As I am sure you would be expecting, I have now closed my doors for the final time for the time being.

I will miss seeing everyone each week but I will spend the next few weeks testing out lots of exciting new recipes for the future. I know that lots of parents have paid for the next 2 weeks which won't be running so I will, of course, use this as payment for the first 2 weeks of the term for whenever we are up and running again.

If you're lucky enough to get some flour and baking ingredients please send me some photos of anything your children bake while we're all at home.

If you'd like any of the recipes for anything we have made before please let me know and I'll send it over.

I am so proud of my fantastic bakers who this week made some absolutely stunning mother's day cupcakes. I hope you've all enjoyed eating them!

Hi all, just one more update from me. I am still running as usual today but ask that if anyone is feeling unwell that they do not attend, just as I am sure you would do anyway. As it is not raining today (hopefully it will be the same later) we will do drop offs and pickups from outside the front door rather than gathering in the house. I will keep an eye out for parents and send children out once someone has arrived. See you all later x

Just a quick update from me, I am running sessions as usual at the moment but if anything changes I will be in touch. I had lots of people asking for Easter sessions which I had been planning but as everything is a bit up in the air at the moment I am unsure as to whether they're likely to go ahead or not. If I can, I will do though!

Of course the usual health and hygiene reminders are given to the children and followed by myself. I've heard the happy birthday song more times in the last 2 weeks than I'd care to count 😂.

It's looking very likely that I will have to change this week's plan from iced buns to possibly cupcakes as I can't seem to get hold of bread flour for love nor money!!

Hope everyone is keeping well and I will look forward to seeing my usual groups this week and hearing their delightful singing voices.... 😂🎶
