Hi everyone,
We’ve noticed there’s been a lot of discussion online regarding the changes to our car park, so we’d like to take the opportunity to answer some of the questions being asked and hopefully clear up any misinformation.
Firstly… the parking system is NOT currently live.
We are currently operating a soft launch, allowing everyone time to become familiar with the new system before it officially goes live.
During this soft launch:
✅ No Parking Charge Notices will be issued.
✅ We’re simply asking customers to start getting used to the new process.
⸻
🍻 Visiting The Red Cat?
Parking remains completely FREE for all Red Cat customers.
Simply enter your vehicle registration into one of the customer parking tablets located inside the pub (pictured) and your visit will be registered.
The process takes less than 30 seconds.
There is also a 10-minute grace period, so if you’re simply dropping someone off or collecting them, you won’t need to register your vehicle.
⸻
🚘 Why are we introducing parking controls?
The Red Cat shares parking with neighbouring businesses and, unfortunately, there have been regular occasions where genuine pub customers and even our own team have struggled to find somewhere to park.
The purpose of this system isn’t to stop people visiting Greasby’s businesses.
It’s simply to ensure that parking spaces remain available for the customers they’re intended for.
⸻
🛒 Visiting Sainsbury’s or Vets for Pets?
Sainsbury’s has customer parking available for its shoppers, which we’d encourage customers to use when visiting the store.
We’ve also arranged free parking for staff working at both Sainsbury’s and Vets for Pets, as we would never expect anyone to pay simply to come to work.
⸻
❓ What if I receive a Parking Charge Notice?
If you genuinely believe you’ve received one incorrectly, please don’t panic.
Come into the pub and ask for Kyle, or speak to one of the team.
We’ll happily look into it and, where appropriate, work with Britannia Parking to have it cancelled.
All we ask is that conversations remain respectful. We understand nobody likes receiving a parking notice, and we’re here to help wherever we can.
⸻
📢 Please don’t rely on rumours.
Like any change, there’s been plenty of speculation online.
If you’re ever unsure, please come in, give us a call, or message the page.
We’ll always provide the correct information.
When an official go-live date has been confirmed, we’ll announce it across all of our channels.
Until then, we’d encourage everyone to start using the registration tablet whenever you visit the pub so that the process becomes second nature.

Thank you for your patience and support while we introduce these changes.
Let’s continue supporting The Red Cat, Sainsbury’s, Vets for Pets, and our fantastic Greasby community.
If you have any questions at all, please get in touch—we’re always happy to help. ❤️
