A late one but we wanted to take a moment to reflect on 2024…
Whilst it was a year filled with lots of business highs, we also had some lows / challenges which are important to reflect on too:
✨ Highs ✨
✨ ✨ 2024 was our busiest year to date for both companies
✨ We finally found an amazing LOCAL chef, , who has been an incredible addition to both businesses. We cannot wait to work with him more this year!
✨ We recruited lots of new local waiting staff who have been an absolute asset to our events.
✨ We had another brilliant year with Chenies Manor catering for their Plant Fair, promoting both our businesses at their Wedding Fair and catering for lots of weddings
✨ We catered for some brilliant local festivals and loved being back in that scene, meeting lots of other street food vendors
✨ We catered for numerous weddings in remote locations offering canapés and a 3 course meal for over 100 guests all from the confines of our 18 foot trailer. Whilst we bought The Rocket to act as a street food business, this just proves how versatile it can be.
❌ Lows/ challenges ❌
❌ George experienced burn out towards the end of August having catered for 30 events in 3 months - most of these being weddings
❌ Isabella starting school in September bid farewell to the nursery wrap around hours and I lost a total of 10 hours on average in the office per week 🫠
❌ Diego, our amazing front of house manager of over 10 years, left to go back to his home country of Brazil. The hole he’s left behind is massive and he’ll be sorely missed.
Running your own business as a husband and wife team with two small kids in tow is no mean feat but it’s by far the most rewarding and exciting career either of us have ever had.
Heading into 2025 we are determined to take stock on some of the lows / challenges and, where possible, try and not let history repeat itself.
We are excited to share lots of our 2025 adventures with you!
