Good morning everyone,
It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sharing that Grounded will be closing at the end of April.
Put simply—despite building a strong, loved business here, the new lease comes with a 60% rent increase. Alongside the ongoing rise in costs facing small businesses, it’s just not sustainable for us to continue.
Many of you know the business was under offer, but unfortunately the buyer didn’t meet the landlord’s requirements, so that hasn’t been able to go ahead.
I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Grounded. The community, the conversations, the people—it’s been everything. Hayes has given us so much, and I’ll genuinely miss being part of it.
While I’m stepping away from the café, our catering and events side of the business is growing quickly and now needs my full focus—so this isn’t the end, just a shift.
If anyone is interested in taking on the space and continuing it as a café (under their own brand), feel free to message me and I can point you in the right direction.
In the meantime, we’re here until the end of the month—so please do come in, grab a final latte, an almond croissant, and say goodbye.
