ALEX IN COLOMBIA DAY 3 ☕️

Today started early with a tour of Finca Santa Bárbara, followed by a visit to Finca Juan Martín.

Alex walked through the coffee trees on both farms, seeing first hand how the crop is grown and harvested before it ever reaches a roastery.

From there, Jairo and the Banexport team gave a tour of their facilities, where they both process the cherries and sort the coffee parchment by size and grade.

Following this, the group cupped 32 coffees from the Cauca and Huila regions.

Seeing the trees in the morning and tasting the coffee by afternoon is about as close to “locally sourced” as it gets!

ALEX IN COLOMBIA DAY 2 ☕️

Today ran a bit behind schedule so Alex only made it to one place: ASMUCAFE in El Tambo, Cauca.

He joined Omar from Cafe Imports and Jairo from Banexport who have worked with and supported ASMUCAFE since 2016.

ASMUCAFE consists of 32 women producers, which Omar and Jairo have supported to improve the quality of their coffee.

The Women of ASMUCAFE have produced coffee since 2009, starting with limited resources, and through their efforts have developed their community, their understanding of coffee production, and invested in better facilities such as a brewing and roasting setup, milling stations, and solar driers.

Dear Green previously visited in 2019 and we have been buying and roasting this, and the neighbouring women’s cooperative AMACA, since 2017. 💚

ALEX IN COLOMBIA DAY 1 ☕️

For the next two weeks, we’re going to be following our account manager Alex on his origin trip to Colombia 🇨🇴

He’s visiting the country to meet the growers and cooperatives we buy our coffee from, see how it’s grown and processed, and understand what “responsibly sourced” actually looks like on the ground.

We’ll be posting updates on his farm visits, cupping sessions, long drives and a week-long course covering the whole journey from plant to port.

It’s a big trip on behalf of our small team... we want you to see exactly where your coffee comes from and the people who make it possible. 💚

New in: Kenya, Tegu AB, washed 🇰🇪

Juicy, complex, and bursting with character! This exceptional Kenyan coffee opens with vibrant notes of zesty lemon curd and blackcurrant jam, balanced by an aromatic oolong tea finish.

Situated near Karatina in Nyeri County, Tegu, meaning “low place”, sits in the cool mountain foothills between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range. Operated by the Tekangu Farmers’ Cooperative Society, established in 1969, the factory serves around 1,200 smallholder family farmers who hand-pick ripe cherries across tiny, high-altitude plots.

After a double fermentation and a 24-hour soak in fresh water, the coffee is slowly dried on raised beds. A traditional Kenyan process that creates remarkable clarity, vibrant acidity, and an unforgettable cup profile.

Glasgow City FC Ticket Offer ⚽️ 🧡

Sunday 20th September, we’re at Petershill Park for Glasgow City FC vs Partick Thistle. Kick-off 1pm.

have been independent, women-founded and women-led since 1998, and built Scotland’s most successful women’s football team through direct investment in the women’s game. That’s exactly why we wanted to get involved.

The coffee’s part of this too. It’s grown by women farmers of the KCRS women farmers group in Rwanda and roasted here in Glasgow by our women-founded team. The Glasgow City squad picked it themselves, and £1 from every bag goes to the Glasgow City Foundation.

We’ll be brewing from 12pm and be around the ground all afternoon. Come find us!

Quick heads up: we’re closing early this Friday (11th September) for a team day.

We’ll shut at 2.30pm instead of our usual 4.30pm, so please bear this in mind when collecting your orders.

We’ll be at SPOT Seconds and Samples Market this Saturday.

Pollokshaws Burgh Hall, 11am to 4pm, alongside a proper lineup of Glasgow’s small makers. Come and say hello, try some coffee and pick up something good while you’re at it.

Wheelchair accessible, dog-friendly and kids welcome, with food and drink on site all day. Suggested donation of £3pp on the door.
