A truly special visit today! 🇯🇵🍃

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from Japan who travelled to the Scottish Tea House after reading an article about us that was published in Japan two years ago.

To see them arrive with the magazine in hand was incredibly touching. It means so much that a story shared all that time ago inspired them to make the journey to visit us in Scotland.

Moments like these remind us that tea has a wonderful way of connecting people across the world. Thank you for making us part of your Scottish adventure, it was a pleasure to meet you, and we hope you enjoyed your visit. 💚🍵

Created exclusively for Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott.

Minstrel’s Rose brings together tea from our Scottish tea garden, carefully selected Organic Chinese black tea, and rose petals in a blend inspired by the history and character of this remarkable place.

The beautifully illustrated packaging, curated by Abbotsford team draws inspiration from the hand-painted Chinese wallpaper gifted to Sir Walter Scott. Its intricate details and natural motifs capture the elegance and storytelling that make Abbotsford so distinctive.

A collaboration that brings together tea, design, heritage, and craftsmanship in a truly unique way. sirwalterscott ScottishHeritage

We are delighted that The Angels’ Share, our single-estate Scottish black tea, is now being served at Condita in Edinburgh.

This intimate Michelin-starred restaurant is renowned for its surprise tasting menu, exceptional Scottish ingredients, and warm, personal hospitality.

Grown and handcrafted in our tea garden in Lanarkshire, The Angels’ Share is a rare Scottish tea with notes of toffee, caramel, and roasted chestnut, a fitting conclusion to an unforgettable dining experience.

From Leaf to Cup 🍃☕

Two photos. One remarkable tea.

The first image shows freshly harvested leaves from our Scottish tea garden. The second reveals the finished result, The Angels’ Share, our single estate black tea, carefully crafted here in Scotland.

Every leaf is grown, hand-picked and processed on our estate, creating a tea that reflects the character of our unique climate and landscape. The transformation from vibrant green leaf to rich black tea is a slow and skilful process, developing the smooth, complex flavour that makes The Angels’ Share so special.

A true taste of Scotland, captured in every cup.

🌿 Sustainability has always been part of our journey at Scottish Tea House, so we’re proud to have completed the VisitScotland Climate Action Accelerator Programme.

From growing tea in Scotland and encouraging biodiversity within our tea garden, to supporting pollinators and creating meaningful connections with nature, caring for our environment has always been at the heart of what we do.

With the support of our volunteer Dawn, who many of our regular visitors will know from Thursdays at the Tea House, we’ve developed our sustainability policy and climate action plan to help us build on the work we’re already doing.

As a small family-run business, we’re proud to be part of a growing community of organisations taking positive steps towards a more sustainable future. We know there is always more to do, but this is an important milestone in our journey.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Scottish Tea House and our vision of producing Scottish-grown tea while caring for the land, wildlife and biodiversity that make it possible. 🍃☕

Most people still don’t expect tea to be grown in Scotland.

But here in our tea garden, tea is grown, picked and crafted slowly in a Scottish climate — giving it a character that reflects the landscape it comes from.

This International Tea Day we’re celebrating Scottish grown tea, the people who visit us, and everyone supporting small producers doing something a bit different. 🍃☕️

What a fantastic weekend at Scottish Tea House! 🍃☕️

We welcomed guests for Tea Tours, Tea Tastings and Afternoon Tea, with plenty of great conversations, laughter and of course lots of tea enjoyed along the way.

A special thank you to the wonderful German group who joined us for a tea tour this weekend. It was such a fun group and a pleasure to share our Scottish tea story with you all. 🇩🇪🍃

From tasting single estate teas to enjoying freshly prepared afternoon teas, the tea house was buzzing all weekend and we loved every minute of it.

Thank you to everyone who visited and supported us, we look forward to welcoming more tea lovers soon! 💚

The tea plants have arrived and they’re looking very happy indeed 🌱✨

Huge thanks to tjcbell getting them safely to us, now comes the fun (and slightly nerve-wracking) part… planting them into the ground and hoping for the best! 🤞

Time to get our hands dirty and let nature do its thing 🌿

Preparing the ground for what’s to come 🌱
William hard at work today, spreading organic manure ready to be rotavated into the soil.

Our clay ground takes time and care, but every step like this helps create the right conditions for our tea plants to thrive.

It all starts beneath the surface, It’s not the glamorous side of tea growing, but it’s one of the most important..
