How absolutely adorable is little Jacob at his cake smash for his first birthday 🥺❤️

This was the dairy free vanilla sponge cake with vanilla buttercream that we made 😍

Mum & dad both said the cake was yummy & that Jacob loved it 🥰

Hello my lovelies 👋🏼

Let’s talk Christmas.. sorry I’ve been quiet on this front/in general as I wasn’t sure if I’d be doing anything or not as I’m still recovering from my spinal surgery.

I am pleased to say that I will be making mini Christmas boxes this year which will include the below -

1 Christmas cupcake
1 Christmas tree brownie
1 Christmas pudding cookie
3 Christmas pudding truffles
1 Caramel gingerbread cookie bar
Selection of Christmas chocolates

These will be priced at £12.50 per box.

To not put strain on myself, I’m going to make as many boxes as I can on the weekend commencing 18th December for collection/delivery to ME8 postcodes only on the 20th/21st. I will pop up a post when I know how many there are and these will be sold on a first come/first served basis so make sure you keep an eye on our page & be quick!

I apologise that we have to do it this way but I need to look after my health but also still want to make Christmas goodies for my loyal followers ❤️

This is a picture of our Christmas boxes from last year as I haven’t been able to make the new ones yet due to coming down with some super cold/flu thing! The new box will slightly differ to this one!

No, I’m not open yet 😭 but this was for a very special birthday for my lovely auntie ❤️

Chocolate sponge, chocolate ganache, chocolate buttercream, topped & decorated with mini chocolate cupcakes (which were a mare to ice, was a 2 person job 🤣) forerro rochers, crunchie & diam bars!

I won’t lie I am insanely jealous but I need to remember that I need to lose weight 🤣

Hey guys 👋🏼

Hope you’re all well - I HAVE AN UPDATE FOR YOU!!! 🎉 🎉 hold tight, it’s a long one...

Although I won’t be coming back for a good few months yet, I do have some updates to share.

So I was contacted last night by my consultant who advised I have the worst disk herniation in my lower spine that he has seen in someone of my age & the only option is surgery to fix it!

I may sound crazy wanting potentially major back surgery however, I have suffered with my back for the past 3 years & the thought of the pain I’m in now not coming back again means it’s all worth it, right?

What does this mean for BakerRee? It means I will still be closed until my surgery (could be weeks, could be months 🙄). I am classed as urgent so hopefully soon & the recovery is likely to be 6-8 weeks. I will of course be reopening as soon as I feel better & ready to do so!

So there is a light at the end of the tunnel, yaaaay!!! So grateful for you all staying with me and supporting me on this awful journey but here’s to coming back hopefully soon (ish)! 🥂

HEY GUYS 👋🏼

Really wishing this was a reopening post but unfortunately not 😭

I’m about to enter week 9 of being more or less bed/housebound 🥺🥺 but the positive is I have my MRI Monday to confirm the reason for my pain & hopefully arrange some sort of treatment. If possible I’ll be opting for spinal surgery (this isn’t a decision which has been taken lightly) however, should mean that I’ll be back & this shouldn’t 🤞🏻 happen again.

Thank you for staying with me on my journey & I cannot wait to be back making more beautiful cakes 🎂

HEY GUYS 👋🏼

Hope you’re all well and staying safe.

Just a little update - I am now entering the 5th week of being more or less bedbound 😭
I am waiting to hear from the orthopaedics regarding an MRI then hopefully will be looking at a steroid epidural injection if the problem seems to be what we think it is.

So unfortunately we are still closed and might still be for some while yet 😭😭

I thought I’d enjoy the break but I’m really missing baking and seeing/treating you all 🥺

**UPDATE**

Hey guys,

Unfortunately, I am still struggling with my herniated disk/sciatic nerve problem. I’m still undergoing treatment from the osteopath & waiting to see a physio. I am also on extremely strong painkillers so the bakery will remain closed for now.

I am GUTTED to be cancelling all the birthday cakes booked in for February & to not be making special valentines boxes 😭😭
