Hello yes I’m still here 👋🏻
I haven’t been able to share as much as I wanted lately, and I finally realised why! Time has been slipping away from me. Every day I pour so much of myself into the children in my setting…so much love, so much energy, so many tiny moments that matter…that sometimes I have to stop and remind myself to breathe.
But today marks the beginning of something new. Something I’ve wrestled with, cried over, and finally made peace with.
I’ve made the incredibly hard decision to step away from doing school runs. It’s been one of the toughest choices I’ve ever had to make. Saying goodbye to children I’ve known since they were babies!! Children I’ve watched grow, laugh, wobble, and shine was the reason I kept going for so long. Those relationships mean everything to me.
But time… time kept slipping. Paintings left unfinished. Stories paused mid sentence. Water play pushed aside until after 2:30. The list of “not yets” grew longer every day, and my heart knew something had to change.
When we stopped morning school runs, something beautiful happened. My early years children blossomed. We painted at 8am. We finished jigsaws without interruption. We laughed, explored, and stayed fully present. I saw just how much more I could give them…how much more they deserved.
So even though it hurt to say goodbye, I know this is right. We will still see those children, still share smiles and stories. But now, I can give 100% of myself to my EYFS children, with no distractions, no rush, no older child pull on my attention. Just pure, focused, meaningful early years magic.
And honestly? I’m excited. Properly excited. This new chapter feels full of possibility. More activities. More learning. More joy. And yes, even more time to share updates with you again.
Here’s to new beginnings, new rhythms, and even more fun ahead.
And I wish my little people we said goodbye to this year all the best in their new chapters too
See you all soon and can’t wait to share more with you
