Walking 100km in one day 🤯

Yes, you read that right!

Premier Inn Hotel Manager Harry took on the challenge of a lifetime, walking a gruelling 100km across the Lake District for Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity (GOSH)

Ironically, Harry joined us part-time after finishing uni, keen to enjoy discounted hotel stays on his hiking trips… little did he know his love of hiking would one day come in handy to fundraise for GOSH.

Reflecting on the Lake District Ultra Challenge , Harry said:

“I was looking for a real challenge to test my limits, and the overwhelming support kept me going when I was at my lowest point towards the finish.

By the end, I had done 163,740 steps, consumed a lot of sugary snacks to keep me going, and listened to ‘Mountain at My Gates’ by Foals (on repeat) just to keep me moving.

It was a brilliant experience, and I’m proud to have raised money for such a fantastic cause.”

We’re so proud of Harry for completing this incredible challenge and going above and beyond to raise money for our charity partner…perhaps Mount Kilimanjaro next? 👀

Over 1,000 miles cycled for charity! 🤯


We’d like to give a shoutout to Louise, one of our Programme Managers, who cycled the Land’s End to John O’Groats route to raise money for Cleft Lip and Palate Action (CLAPA)

Alongside her partner Dale, they cycled across the country in 14 days, stopping at a different each night along the route.

Reflecting on the trip, Louise said:

“Even though I’m smiling in every photo, this really was a tough challenge. From the hills of Devon and Cornwall to the bumpy canal tracks, the first few days really tested me – I even had to dry my gloves under a hand dryer at a service station!

It wasn’t until we got to Scotland that I really started to enjoy it. We were in a heatwave at the time, but the weather in Scotland was absolutely perfect. The blue skies combined with the dramatic landscape made it all worth it.

It was an incredible two weeks, and I’m really proud to say we raised £2,370 for CLAPA, a charity that means a lot to us. What’s even better is that, through Whitbread’s Raise and Match scheme, we’ve been able to add an additional £750 to the pot!”

We want to say a huge well done to Louise and Dale for taking on this mammoth challenge, and to our incredible Premier Inn teams for looking after them up and down the country 💜

Ever wondered what happens when you join a hotel that hasn’t opened yet?

Here’s a flavour of what our team got up to in the run-up to opening our new Premier Inn Bognor Regis Seafront hotel.

👋 We kicked things off with our ‘Welcome to Premier Inn’, giving the new team the chance to get to know the business - but most importantly, each other.

🫶 The team then headed out for a community event, picking litter to help improve the local area.

🤝 To finish up, hands-on training. The team worked their way through creating our food and drinks menu, and practicing serving.

After a few weeks of training, the team was ready to open the doors to the public 💜

We’d like to shine a light on Tia, from one of our Portsmouth Premier Inn hotels, who truly went above and beyond for her guests during an incredibly difficult time.

A couple were staying with us when they needed to extend their visit, after their newborn grandson became seriously unwell and was admitted to intensive care.

After speaking with them, Tia thoughtfully put together a small care package, a simple but meaningful gesture to bring a moment of comfort during such a challenging time.

When Tia later learned that their grandson had sadly passed away, she once again showed extraordinary compassion, supporting the couple with genuine care and sensitivity.

Recently, the couple returned, but this time to welcome their healthy newborn granddaughter into the world. Wanting to thank Tia for her kindness, they surprised her with a card and some thoughtful gifts.

We’re incredibly proud of Tia for handling such a sensitive situation with empathy, compassion, and respect 🫶
