It seems our recent post celebrating our fantastic reviews and recognising the hard work of our staff may have struck a nerve with someone.
Before I go any further, I want to say that I don't normally make posts like this. I'd much rather spend my time highlighting the positives, thanking our customers and praising the fantastic team around me. However, when unfair and what appears to be completely false comments are made about my business and the hardworking staff who represent it every day, I feel I have a responsibility to stand up for them.
Shortly after sharing a post thanking our customers and praising our team, we've received what appears to be a fake review from a profile we do not recognise, containing no details of a visit, no order information and no genuine concerns that could be investigated.
To be honest, I wasn't entirely surprised. Unfortunately, this sort of thing tends to happen when a business is doing well, receiving positive feedback and building a strong reputation within the local community.
While most local business owners focus their energy on improving their own business, supporting their staff and providing the best possible service to customers, there are occasionally individuals who seem more interested in trying to damage the reputation of others. Whether that comes from envy, bitterness or simply a lack of respect for the hard work that goes into running a business, I'll leave others to draw their own conclusions.
What I will say is that I know the character of my staff, I know how hard they work, and I know the level of service they provide day in, day out. The genuine reviews and recommendations we receive regularly are a reflection of that.
The Swallow Café has been serving the community for many years, and we are incredibly grateful for the support we continue to receive from our loyal customers. One anonymous review from a profile we do not recognise will never outweigh the hundreds of positive experiences shared with us over the years.
To everyone who takes the time to support us, recommend us and leave honest feedback, thank you. Your support means everything to myself and the team.
