What a weekend! โ™ฅ๏ธ

We just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has visited us, supported us, spread the word and helped make our first few weeks such a busy one. Weโ€™re so grateful for the warm welcome weโ€™ve received from the village and beyond.

Behind the scenes, thereโ€™s plenty going on as we continue to find our feet, get things in place and bring some exciting plans to life. Thereโ€™s a lot of hard work happening behind those bar doors, and we canโ€™t wait to share more with you.

Weโ€™ve had the go-ahead from our chefs to start taking bookings for our first Sunday roast of 2026, Sunday 1st November! ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ—

Weโ€™re really looking forward to bringing a proper Sunday roast to The Black Lion, and we know some of you have been waiting for this one!

Where do we even start?!

Last night was everything we hoped for and more. A packed pub, an electric atmosphere, so much laughter, and so many of you coming together for our very first quiz night at The Black Lion.

Honestly, we are still buzzing! Seeing the pub full of people having fun, getting competitive, laughing together and making memories is exactly what this is all about. Thank you to every single person who came along, took part, cheered, laughed and helped make the night so special. We couldnโ€™t have asked for a better first quiz night! โ™ฅ๏ธ

And then thereโ€™s Plantlad ! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‘

Tom, you were absolutely incredible. You had the whole pub in the palm of your hand, kept everyone entertained from start to finish and brought an energy that made the night what it was. The laughs, the banter, the atmosphereโ€ฆ you absolutely smashed it! Weโ€™ve had so many lovely comments about you already, and we honestly couldnโ€™t have asked for a better quiz master. Thank you for bringing so much fun to The Black Lion. Youโ€™re a legend, Tom! ๐Ÿ†

A huge congratulations to our winners, who walked away with ยฃ75 off their bill! They even had the option to roll their winnings over to the next quiz, but decided free pizza was the way to go instead! ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ˜‚ We respect that decision!

To everyone who came, supported us, filled the tables and made the evening what it was, thank you. Weโ€™re so grateful for the support this village has shown us, and nights like these remind us why we wanted to do this in the first place.
