A group in Cwmbran is helping stroke survivors find their voices again - one friendly cuppa at a time. Say Aphasia Cwmbran meets every month at Carro Lounge in Gwent Square, offering a relaxed, welcoming space for anyone living with aphasia, a communication disability that often follows a stroke or brain injury.

For many people, it means knowing exactly what they want to say, but being unable to get the words out - something that can feel incredibly isolating.

The group is run by Peer Leaders Ray and Laura, with support from Cassie, and the focus is simple: no pressure, just support, conversation and company. It’s not a medical session - it’s a social morning open to survivors, carers and family members.

It's held on the first Tuesday of every month from 10.30am-12pm

For those who can’t make it in person, Say Aphasia also runs a regular online session so people can join from home- link to more info in the comments.

💙 What a month it’s been at Carro Lounge! 💙

Together, we’ve been raising money for Tenovus through a whole range of fundraising activities, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way. From donations and events to all the incredible community spirit shown by our guests and team, every contribution has made a difference.

But there’s still time to get involved! ⏰ Donations are still open, so if you’d like to support this fantastic cause, there’s plenty of time to help us push our total even higher.
