kitchen/diner completed earlier this week for a repeat customer.

The room was ready for us on arrival, so we could get straight on with taping up and sheeting up.

Minor repairs were carried out where necessary, with caulking around the units and frames. All walls were sanded using our dustless sanding setup.

Ceiling painted with Tikkurila Anti-Reflex 2 White Matt Emulsion.

Walls painted with Johnstone’s Acrylic Durable Matt, matched to Dulux Almost Oyster.

Woodwork undercoated and finished with Johnstone’s Aqua Guard Satin.

Another job finished and another happy repeat customer. Thanks again for choosing us.

Recently completed in Bedlington

A full decorating project covering the living room, dining room, kitchen, utility, hallway, stairs & landing.

We started by stripping the feature wall wallpaper, carrying out repairs where needed and thoroughly sanding the walls throughout.

The kitchen & utility required a little more preparation, including repairing blown tapes and cracks around the kitchen ceiling and treating the utility ceiling with Johnstone’s Stain Away.

Finishes throughout:
• Ceilings – Tikkurila Anti-Reflex 2 White Matt
• Walls – Macpherson’s Mid Sheen, colour matched to Dulux Malt Chocolate
• Woodwork – Johnstone’s Aqua Guard Satin
• Utility ceiling – Johnstone’s Stain Away

🏠 Oscar’s Bedroom Makeover

During the recent summer holidays, I put my time to good use giving my son Oscar’s bedroom a complete makeover — while he was recovering in the garden cabin in his moon boot! 😂

What started with breaking down his built-in floating bed quickly turned into a much bigger project.
With a bit of help from my wife Claire, we stripped the walls, removed all the old woodwork and then got some help in to board and skim the entire room.
A massive thanks to James Elliott Plastering for helping get the room ready. 👌
Once everything had dried out, I applied a mist coat before switching my usual decorating kit for some new skirting and architrave.
And then… back to my bread and butter!

Woodwork:
Caulked where needed, fully undercoated and finished with Johnstone’s Aqua Guard Satin.
Walls:
Finished in Dulux Trade Diamond Matt, matched to Farrow & Ball School House White. And yes… that was paint I found lurking in my shed! 🫣 It had been there a while, so definitely needed straining before use.
Ceiling:
Painted with WRX Ceiling Paint, which I was given to trial.
For the price, I think it’s a good paint — but personally, I still prefer our go-to Tikkurila Anti-Reflex 2.
Quite a transformation from where we started, and definitely one of those jobs where the finished result makes all the graft worthwhile! 💪
