We are pleased to announce that Conwy Water Gardens & The Dutch Pancake House are now under new ownership. We wish the previous owners, John and Ann the very best in their retirement.

Thank you for bearing with us as we settle into the new takeover and get used to our new chapter here. We're working hard behind the scenes to restore everything to its very best and bring it back to the beautiful place we know it to be.

We're looking forward to this new adventure and excited for you all to join us on this journey!

Do you have a water feature that is suffering from green algae? Have you tried cleaning it but find it difficult to get in the nooks and crannies? We offer Blagdon feature algae control for this purpose. It offers a fast effective treatment, clearing green water, slime and blanketweed. 🌿 August Pond Care Tips 🐟💧

As summer continues, warm temperatures and organic waste can affect water quality, encouraging algae growth and placing extra stress on pond fish. Regular maintenance and the right water treatments are essential for keeping ponds healthy throughout August.

Focus on maintaining clear, balanced water while supporting fish health during the late summer months.

✔ Use water treatments to maintain healthy water quality
✔ Add beneficial bacteria to break down sludge and organic waste
✔ Treat algae and blanketweed before it becomes a problem
✔ Continue removing excess debris and clean filters regularly

🌱 A little extra care in August helps keep ponds clear, fish healthy, and water conditions balanced as summer draws to a close!

We have a range of pond baskets for sale in different sizes. Here's why it's good to use pond baskets;

Water Clarity: Keeps heavy loam or aquatic compost locked in place so pumps and fish do not cloud the water.

Growth Control: Stops vigorous aquatic species from spreading uncontrollably across the pond liner.

Fish Protection: Prevents bottom-feeding fish from digging up or eating the delicate root systems.

Easy Maintenance: Allows you to effortlessly lift, divide, feed, or reposition plants as needed.

Nutrient Access: Lets water and oxygen flow freely through the mesh to nourish the roots.

We sell Aquatic Soil here at Conwy Water Gardens. It is important to use this as it prevents the soil from floating away, stops toxic chemical leaks into the water, and controls algae growth while firmly anchoring the roots. Regular garden compost or potting soil will break apart and cloud the pond.
