🎉 EXCITING NEWS FROM ERNIE BECKETTS! 🎉

As many of you may know, Ernie Becketts was due to close its doors at the end of September…

HOWEVER, we have some fantastic news — Ernie Becketts will no longer be closing! 🐟🍟

You can still expect:

✨ The same amazing staff
✨ The same fantastic quality
✨ The same traditional fish & chip shop you know and love!

A fantastic local businessman will be taking over Ernie Becketts around October/November, and we’ll keep you updated as everything progresses.

Most importantly, he has promised to keep everything you love about Ernie Becketts just the same. ❤️

To celebrate this exciting news, we’re offering FREE DELIVERY or a FREE bottle of water with your order when you visit us in store! 🎉 from 15/9/2026

We hope you’re as excited as we are, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us.

Please continue to support Ernie Becketts during the transition over the next few months — we can’t wait to welcome you back for many more years of traditional fish & chips! 🐟🍟❤️

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we announce Ernie Beckett’s will be closing at the end of September 2026.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, and despite our very best efforts, we have been left with no other option.

The continued rise in operational costs, VAT and other expenses has placed significant pressure on the business. In addition, the ongoing council works outside our shop, combined with many events taking place at the other end of Cleethorpes, have caused a drastic drop in footfall.

Deliveries have also become increasingly difficult, as our vans are often unable to access the property. Unfortunately, we cannot sustain these challenges for the length of time the council’s work is expected to continue.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank every single customer who has supported us throughout the decades. We know many of you will be just as heartbroken as we are, as Ernie Beckett’s has been part of the Cleethorpes community and so many family memories for generations.

We would also like to thank every current and former member of staff for their hard work, loyalty and dedication. So many people have grown up with Ernie Beckett’s, whether as customers, colleagues or friends, and we will always be grateful for the part you have played in our story.

We hope you will continue to support us over the coming months so that we can go out with a truly legendary bang!

Hopefully, this will not be the end of Ernie Beckett’s forever, and one day the legacy will return.

Thank you for everything. ❤️
