Hello you lovely people. I hope everyone is enjoying the weather we’re having!
As July is already quite packed for me, i’m now having to take a look at the timeframe regarding taking orders for the future.
In recent months, i’ve had to refuse some requests simply because of how busy I’ve become. I absolutely love the fact i’m busy, because the support I’m receiving as a small home business means everything to me. But it also means my diary is getting full quite quickly. I don’t like disappointing people by refusing a request due to no spaces left, so i’m taking another look at my timeframes when ordering cakes (particularly occasion and wedding cakes).
I will also be pinning the terms and conditions (or client agreement) too. It will have updated information on my deposit and cancellation policies. Due to a few occasions whereby someone has requested a date be booked, i have then refused other customers for that date, only to be cancelled on last minute with no time to fill the space.
I will pin the information up once i restructure the process, but in the meantime i will be unable to take a booking unless ordered at least 3 weeks before the date it’s needed for (with occasion cakes). Ideally 4, but 3 weeks notice minimum. Wedding cakes will be at least 6 months in advance. A deposit will be taken upon booking the cake regardless of the size of the order. Please note, your order is not secure until the deposit is paid.
Thank you all again for ordering, sharing, interacting and supporting me. It’s only been in recent months, that i’m starting to see the results of the effort i’ve put into my business for over a year now. And i’m very grateful to everyone who puts their trust in me.
I do still have some slots this month, but very few. August is also shaping up to be busy, so get those orders in to avoid disappointment.
Thank you x
