A big thanks to historian and author Doug Smith who organised an inspiring Meet The Author afternoon with Mercia Chronicles author Sue Hinton, along with publisher Brewin Books yesterday at The Talbot.

They covered everything from the inspiration behind the Mercia Trilogy and how Sue balanced writing alongside a full time job in the beginning, to how she developed her characters within the books and the writing process she follows when she begins writing.

Brewin Books have been established for more than 50 years and have published hundreds of titles in that time. It was very insightful to hear what they look for when publishing a book and how they support new writers.

Thank you for a very interesting afternoon and we look forward to the next event soon.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the coffee shop will be closed tomorrow morning - Sunday 11th October.
