The restaurant lost a proper beautiful legend yesterday, as leaves us and moves to Scotland to become a whiskey master.

I don’t think Chihiro realises quite the impact she’s had on Matsudai. So strong and fast and steady and kind. The culture has changed so much for the better over the past 10 months and it wouldn’t have landed where it is without you.

We will miss you! (As we miss - another extremely important part of the Matsudai extended family). Very grateful for .jehu Kotoko / Koko nick and Yuki, as well as the wider team who made this all work so well. We are in a really good, non-toxic place and it brings me great joy. x

☀️ NEW RESTAURANT MENU DROP! ☀️

you'll recognise some of our most popular bowls from last summer, but again, we've done a lot of work on fine-tuning them. various tantanmen bowls, and chicken shio ramen. we hope you'll love it all.

ramen for the people is running through the summer too don't forget, so come in early and you can sample some of this stuff for just a tenner. new menu launches tomorrow (assuming this weather doesn't close us for the day).

THIS BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY 24th MAY BOTTOMLESS KARAAGE at MATSUDAI 🤩

Book your spot for £15 per person, and we’ll keep the karaage coming.

It's the crispy, golden icon of our menu. Japanese fried chicken or oyster mushrooms. Seasoned to perfection and dunked in our curry mayo, and for this weekend only wild garlic aioli and gochujang hot honey too.

HOW’S THIS GONNA WORK?

Entry is staggered between 7 and 8pm. Book a spot for yourself at the bar, or a table for up to 8.

We keep the karaage moving, sauces are on tap.
Afro Cluster's DJ Veto will provide the soundtrack. You add cocktails, beers, sake, highballs and snacks as you see fit. 🍸🍻💕

The bar and kitchen close at 10:30pm but you can of course hang around and finish up.
