There was one very happy team and one very unhappy team last night - that very happy team is Old Skulls United - congratulations on what was a bit of a nail biter at the end!
A typical start to the quiz with Old Skulls, Karl's Fi*****ng and Four Must Get Beers vying for first place. The odd attempt from F**k Off Dave and Cheesy Keema were made and seen off.
Derek Pakora, who were, shall we say, in need of a few extra points, bagged the nearest win and went straight to the top! Thank you, Sam.
As we got to round 6 - our evil music round (ocean/sea theme) - Old Skulls were on top, Karl's Fi*****ng were in sixth somehow, after a strong first few rounds... but we know that usually changes as we progress through the round.
Only a few questions in, Karl's Fi*****ng made it up to the top three, and that Enya question frustrated a few teams, including top-spot Skulls; the gap reduced to just one point.
The do si do ensued between these two teams, one or two points exchanged depending on fastest answers...
The Skulls weren't sure on Twin Atlantic, but Karl's got it and leapfrogged them. Nor were they sure about Yellow Submarine and Revolver, but that worked in their favour... Karl's Fi*****ng answered incorrectly and lost points.
Then, that Weezer question. Lots of frustration aired by the Fingerers when they answered Blue rather than Green, and with just two questions left, it was game over for Karl's Fi*****ng. They answered the last questions correctly, as did Old Skulls United, and that 11 point gap could not be closed.

A rather large jackpot of £150+ on Play Your Cards Right last night, with no takers. Now, we don't usually let the staff play, however, Jayne is raising money for a good cause so we bent the rules on this occasion. She made it to half way and bagged a decent half way cash prize for the donation tin!
