Holiday Busking

Holiday Busking Holiday busking is what I do. I love to play the ukulele and see smiles on people's faces. I am Cesar Zanin. My name is Cesar Zanin. That's it.

I was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1975 and I have been somewhat involved with DIY lo-fi music since 1991. I started to play the ukulele when I lived in Brighton, UK. I played in a band there called Barins and the bassist, David, a guy from Manchester who loved both heavy metal rock and the ukulele, presented this beautiful instrument to me in late 2008 or early 2009. I played the ukulele sporadic

ally until 2012, when I opened an arts centre in São Paulo. In 2013 I started playing experimental music, leaving then the ukulele to accumulate dust in a corner of my bedroom. In 2016 an Italian girlfriend, fellow student at USP, asked me to play the ukulele for her, and we started to sing together, just for fun. I took part in an exchange program to study at Università degli Studi di Perugia, Italy. I busked for the first time on the 24th August 2016 inside Rocca Paolina. I spent the following months busking in Perugia, rotating among 3 or 4 different spots in the center of the city. Besides, in Perugia I played in an Osteria, a pastelaria and a bar too. In December I busked in Bristol and London. What I do is:
I sit on the floor, open the uke case in front of me, play and sing. I love to see the smiles on people's faces. I started busking because I couldn't find a job, in order to get money to survive. Now that I finally have found a job, the idea is to keep on busking, but during my holidays only. And well, that's why I created this page in the first place. :)
