Did you know that Alfriston is one of the oldest villages in Sussex, named in the domesday book no less - that alone makes it worth the visit but oh my, there is so much more to love. Yes there’s history in abundance, but it’s the village community of today who add the extra layers of magic.

Independent restaurants, tea rooms, shops and galleries share the narrow high with historic pubs and hotels - medieval and modern heritage at every turn. It’s easy to spend all day there, or drop in for a well deserved pint after big walks along River Cuckmere or from the nearby Long Man of Wilmington.

We’ve heard that as a Sunday Roast destination, it’s one of the best…

We think it’s time to make a plan to get out of the city and visit Alfriston, don’t you?

🍿 Dinner, drinks and a movie at The Farm Tavern!

This cosy Hove neighbourhood pub serves Eastern European inspired small plates, brilliant Sunday roasts, cocktails and local beers in a warm, candlelit setting.

Every second and final Wednesday of the month, guests can head upstairs for the free Movie Club from 7pm to 10.30pm. Each screening comes with different sweet and savoury popcorn flavours too!
