Hedgehogs are one of our best-loved species, but they have suffered steep declines in the last few decades and are classed as Near Threatened according to the IUCN Red List of threatened species.

However, there is hope! Some studies have shown signs of urban hedgehog populations starting to stabilise, which shows how important our gardens, yards, allotments and other green spaces can be for these wonderful creatures (and for wildlife in general).

'Help a Hog' is your free guide to helping hedgehogs on your doorstep. From providing water, suitable food and safe nesting places, to getting your neighbours involved and connecting up your spaces, there are lots of ways to help reverse the fortunes of these precious animals 🦔

Our lovely Education team are currently looking for donations of digger toys for their sessions 🚜

Do you have any small or large diggers lying around the house that are no longer played with? We would love to give them a second life and bring joy to other children!

Donations can be dropped off with our team in the cafe.
