It’s been a little while, and with great sadness I have to let you all know that Gumdrop Bakery will be closing until further notice.
I do plan to reopen again in a few months, and I’m really hoping that I’ll be back at the markets and providing all of your favourite homemade bakes and celebration cakes once I’m fully recovered and strong enough to return. 🧁❤️
Gumdrop Bakery has been my life everyday for almost the past two years. I have poured absolutely everything I had into building a successful business, and I have been so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful customers who continue to return, support me and recommend my little bakery to others.
Running my own home bakery has been my happiness and my dream. I can only hope that when I’m able to return, my amazing customers will still be there and willing to support me once again. ❤️
I originally took some time away after being unwell for two months and needing an emergency operation. I had every intention of reopening within around six weeks. Unfortunately, my first operation was unsuccessful, which resulted in me having to undergo another emergency operation just 14 days later.
Since then, I have remained in hospital, and my recovery has been slow and much more difficult than I ever could have imagined.
I therefore need to take this time away from Gumdrop Bakery to concentrate on recovering from two major operations, rebuilding my strength and finding some form of normality when I finally return home.
Most importantly, I need to make up for the precious time I have missed with my darling daughter. ❤️
It is with such sadness that I find myself in this position. Gumdrop Bakery has been such a huge part of my life, and having to step away from something I love so much is incredibly difficult.
But I am determined to recover, come out on top and reopen Gumdrop Bakery bigger and better than ever. 🧁✨

You have all helped make my dream of running my own home bakery a reality. This is not goodbye — just a little break while I get myself better.
