Very angry post!!
I had an incident with a cake today where I thought I was dealing with the customer, but it became apparent after being messed about and not being paid the balance, that the person who ordered it was not the customer but a party organiser who was not legitimate. I DO NOT DEAL WITH ORDERS WHICH ARE NOT DIRECT FROM ME TO THE CUSTOMER!! so if you are a party planner, please do not order a cake from me. I do not enter into 3rd party agreements.
I don’t spend days on a cake for a customer so that someone else can add money on top without my knowledge making the customer pay more and profiting from my hard work. The receiving customer ended up paying me in the end as the “Party organiser” was no where to be seen. This also involved me doing 2 round trips out of my way and costing me more money.
I appreciate sometimes it may be a surprise but the person who orders the cake has to pay for it, not tell me “so and so’s third uncle twice removed is paying for it” and not giving me a contact number.
