It’s been a great December so far at Tropea, we love this time of year! 😊🎄🍆.

As a result we’ve opened up a few extra days between Christmas and New Year. Please see below our festive hours:

Christmas Eve Open from 5pm

Christmas Day Closed

Boxing Day Closed

Saturday 27th Open from 2.30pm

Sunday 28th Open from 2.30pm

Monday 29th Open from 5pm

Tuesday the 30th Open from 5pm

New Year’s Eve Open from 2pm (with an exclusive menu)

New Year’s Day Closed

Friday January 2nd Open from 5pm

Saturday January 3rd Open from 12pm

Closed January 4th - 7th

Open as usual from Thursday the 8th of January

The end of an era. Toby leaves Tropea today having led the team brilliantly for 2 years.

Toby always put the guests first and his genuine love and care is clear from the relationships made with you all.

As many of you know, the rather wonderful will be taking over as General Manager on the rock-solid foundation Toby has built.

For now, we want to say a huge thank you to and wish you all the best with your exciting plans.

To be awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand tonight means so much to us as it represents what we always hoped Tropea would be. That is: great food, that’s good value, cooked with care and served with love!

All we ever wanted for Tropea was to bring a bit of Calabrian sunshine to Birmingham.

We are looking for a talented sous chef to join after our extension.

We have a great kitchen team which we are looking to grow and develop. We have beautiful new prep kitchen, lots of great equipment and work with the best ingredients from Italy and the UK.

We’d love to hear from anyone passionate about Italian food.

We’re open to talking to a person with 2 years or more in a senior CDP position or junior sous level who is looking to progress, or a seasoned sous chef ready to make their mark somewhere new.

As we are a very busy restaurant you must be a chef that gets a buzz from being busy!

Experience working with Italian cuisine would be great but isn’t a deal breaker, however you must love Italian food!

We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with you all 🎄🎉🍆

Below are our opening hours for December and the beginning of January. The reservation calendar is now open until summer 2025.

We are closed for Christmas from Sunday the 22nd of December until Thursday 26th December.

Open Friday 27th December through to New Year’s Eve

Closed New Year’s Day.

Reopening from Thursday the 2nd of January and resuming normal operations thereafter.

Can’t wait to see you all (and your questionable jumpers).

With Tropea 2.0 in full swing, we are looking for chefs of all levels.

We offer 4 day weeks and great pay. All our food is made from scratch every day from the best possible ingredients sourced locally and from Italy. We also have a beautiful new kitchen and great equipment.

Well the last two weeks have been fun! 😆🍆

Come down and see what we’ve done…Indulge yourself in our new bar, eat pasta, drink wine. Sit on a bar stool and drink a Paper Plane, order an Olive Leaf Gin Martini in a frozen glass. Talk rubbish and forget about the grey sky. Drop into Tropea 2.0 and escape with us.
