Well another season completed. Thank you to everyone who has visited us, some supporting us on a daily, weekly or monthly basis- it has been a pleasure meeting you and looking after you. The team we have had in the tearoom this year have been amazing, hopefully some will return next year during their Uni break. Roll on spring 2027!

Just a reminder: this is our last weekend of season 2026, we hope to see all our regulars and newbies. We are open from 11am-3pm.

Our times and days of opening may have changed but we’ll have freshly homemade soup and scones ready from 11am to keep you warm! Plus bacon and sausage rolls waiting to be made to order. We look forward to seeing you.

‘Doors Open Days’ 5th and 6th September, 2026
We are supporting Scotland’s largest free festival that celebrates places and stories, new and old.

We are offering free entry to the Visitor Centre Museum between 11am and 3 pm on both 5th and 6th September. No need to book, but please report to Reception.
Donations are always welcome.
Guided tours can be booked, at the usual price, through the website or at Reception.

As we enter September, our days and hours of opening have changed:

During September we are open from Wednesday-Sunday inclusive from 11am - 3pm.

We look forward to seeing you - even with road signs and works in place!

Just a reminder Wanlockhead village is open to visitors although the Mennock Pass is closed from 9am-5pm during the week. Please visit our glorious village and of course us via Leadhills.

We are open from 10am upto and including Monday 31 August 2026. Our hours of opening change from September, please check out our website.

🚧 LOCAL ROAD CLOSURE – PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TRAVEL TIME 🚧

Just a heads-up for everyone travelling to Lowther Leisure Pool over the next month. 🏊‍♀️💦

🚗 Roadworks are taking place on the Mennock Pass, with the road closed:

⏰ Monday–Friday: 9am–5pm
✅ Weekends: Open as normal

During the closure, there is a diversion via Crawfordjohn and over the Apache.

📍 If you’re travelling from the Sanquhar side, please allow extra time for your journey so you don’t miss the start of your swimming session.

😊 We’ll be glad to finally see these works completed — only 4½ years of traffic lights! 😂🚦

As two of our team leave us tomorrow and Monday to get ready for University. We are wishing Rhiannon who has been with us for 2 seasons and Stephanie who joined us this year the best of luck the forthcoming year. Ladies you have been amazing and will be sorely missed.
