I'm thrilled to announce that our first field is now officially Merlin's Field, where he spent countless sunny days lounging and exploring amidst the blackthorn. We're envisioning a vibrant nature oasis, teeming with wildflowers, a serene pond, and winding paths for our furry friends to roam. It's a bold vision, and we're taking it one step at a time. Today, we made significant progress by expanding the red squirrel woods with sweet chestnuts and wild cherry, which I've dubbed Aled's Wood. Take a look at the new growth sprouting up - it's a testament to the incredible potential that lies ahead! 🌳💚

This week, one of our guests, David has been fishing with one of the biggest rods I have seen on our lake. On one day he caught 79 fish! There was a wide variety of fish, but this was his favourite, a rather large perch. Whilst they have been here they have been really keen on exploring the nature, so have seen the red squirrels but were also lucky enough to watch the dolphins jumping at Port Lynas, hopefully we will have some of their videos to share soon.

It is a little late to book anything with us for October as we are booked now, but maybe if you are thinking about next year. I have visited Moelfre twice in the last few days, it was always one of my favourite places on Anglesey, it reminds me a little bit of Cornwall. It is a wonderful place to do a spot of sea fishing. There is also a lovely stretch of the coastal walk which enables you to see some amazing birds as well as watch the colours of the sea. Then you can perhaps reward yourself with a pint at the Kimnel Arms. We decided to have dinner at Ann's Pantry this weekend and the food, service and location was so good, I went back for lunch today. Moelfre is just 10 minutes drive from Lakehouse Holidays. For an autumn day, it had been spectacular. If anyone can’t find me, I may be sitting watching the sea.

We love to pop into Beaumaris on quieter days. There is so much to do, crabbing off the pier, boat rides, a castle to visit, lots of independent shops and wonderful places to eat. Beau's Cafe has just won a Trip Advisor award, have you visited them?

Some of the fish caught at the lake recently. We gather there is a rumour in fishing circles that our carp were sold… as you can see they weren’t . Maybe you will be the next person to catch one. These young men had immense patience!

Well today was the day. Wildflower seeds sown in the natural beds that Aled has been preparing for months. Both fields now cleared by Calum and team. And as an added bonus, one of our guests has solved the wireless problem!

We have been planning this since we first arrived here and today is the day. We are having both fields cleared and hopefully restore the balance of nature. The first field will have wild flowers sown and we plan to create dog walking pathways.
