We started a garage conversion today in Lutterworth. A quick strip out inside and then spent some time carefully removing the electric garage door as the customer had sold it. There was enough time in the afternoon to tooth out the brickwork and get the brick and block cavity wall done ready for window installation and knock through to the hallway on Wednesday. The garage will become a bedroom with a shower room at the rear for an office space with a fold down bed to use as a guest room as well. What a great use of space!

We have had a very busy 18months at B S Smith LTD with some work we are very proud of. We have put together a small collection of pictures that we really love and we feel show the standard of work that we love to produce for our clients.
We offer design and build service and work closely with local architects and carry projects through from concept to completion.
In addition to larger projects, we also do custom carpentry, fitted kitchens, bathrooms and internal renovations.

We got round to the re-roof on one of our jobs last week. We did the extensions 18 months ago and the roofs never really tied in, so we went back and re did the existing roof on the back, for a much more seamless finish and much longer life span with new breathable membrane, baton and tiles to match existing, along with the fascia and gutter.

COMPLETION of traditional oak framed porch. Giving the entrance a house from 1890 needs!
This has been a really fun job and the results are amazing. It’s been oiled with osmo UV clear wax oil and flashings and touch ups are also done.

We completed a small job today between bigger jobs. Knocking through between a hallway and garage on a new build house. A small job with huge benefits adding direct access to the garage with and FD30 fire door to match existing with key lock and fire and smoke seals. A happy customer and a job well done.

I’ve been working on a little project for home today and a few evenings in the week. Working on the mortice and tenons ready start to install today. I hope to get the rafters cut and fit tomorrow and get the soldier course on the wall. It’s so nice to spend time on my own projects after working all week on other people’s! #
