Thanks to everyone who supported us, just to let you know The Room closed yesterday permanently, without highland Cow Cottage running we just couldn’t afford to keep it in operation. We will miss all our wonderful visitors, and sorry to have let you down.
It’s been an emotional time for all of us.

💔 A Sad Announcement from The Tea Room & Highland Cow Cottage 💔

It’s with heavy hearts that we have to share some difficult news. Yesterday, our planning application for Highland Cow Cottage was refused by the planning department. Sadly, this means we have no choice but to close our little family business.

We opened The Tea Room and Highland Cow Cottage with a simple dream — to bring people together, to spread a little happiness, and to create a space where everyone could feel welcome. Over the past months, we’ve poured our hearts into every roast dinner, every cream tea, and every smile we’ve shared with our lovely visitors.

Unfortunately, despite all our efforts, we’ve faced constant challenges and a lack of support from the parish council and certain members within Arrington village. It’s been a battle we never wanted, and we’re heartbroken that it’s come to this.

Our final day of opening will be this Sunday, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible for one last cup of tea, slice of cake, and a goodbye hug. 💛

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you to everyone who’s supported us, visited us, and believed in what we were trying to do. You’ve made this journey truly special.

Please note that this Sunday we will not be serving our traditional roast dinners, as we will be hosting a private event from 12:00–3:00pm. We will be offering a selection of light lunches from 3-5pm.

🍖🥦🥔Our roast dinners will return as usual next weekend, and we look forward to welcoming you then.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us. As things have been a little quieter than we hoped, we’re adjusting our hours to focus on the weekend:
📅 New Opening Hours
✨ Saturday: 10am – 5pm
✨ Sunday: 11am – 5pm
🥪 We’ll still be serving our full menu of homemade food, our much-loved cream teas, and plenty of cakes and treats.
💛 If things get busier again, we’ll happily extend our opening days. Don’t forget you can also book us for private functions — perfect for birthdays, gatherings, and special occasions.
🚗 We’ll still be running our popular monthly Takeaway Fridays, and we may add more special events along the way — so keep an eye out for updates!
