‼️‼️Important Announcement‼️‼️
Hi all
Sadly, we have a very sad announcement and one that was very difficult to make 😭
This Sunday, will unfortunately be our last day at The Park Coffee Shop & Eatery and last in the hospitality game…
Telling Dianne was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make as everyone on the Vale of Pickering Caravan Park, are genuinely so nice and all have become good friends of ours - we will miss them all dearly.
Anyone who is in hospitality will tell you how hard it is to have a “normal” life, and one that definitely isn’t 9-5 Monday to Friday.
Big sacrifices have to be made and I’ve made plenty since we opened our first shop, Seven Coffee House (formerly Seven Coffee Shop & Eatery) in February 2020.
When we first bought Seven, Deb and I both gave up good jobs - neither of us had any previous experience in hospitality, never mind running a coffee shop and we learnt on the job!
But we followed a dream and have had the highest of highs but some really bad lows when we consider the unprecedented amount of challenges we’ve faced - namely COVID, which hit us just 5 weeks after opening.
Deb and I are so proud of what we’ve done and achieved in this time.
I used to work away a lot prior to being in hospitality and have missed years seeing our girls growing up and valuable time with my wife / family.
Now is the time for some normality.
Deb and I would like to thank EVERY single member of staff that has worked for us, EVERY customer that has come through the door, many becoming friends - we will genuinely miss you all but all good things have to come to an end.
I would like to mention my parents in this post…
I can honestly say I’m truly blessed to have an amazing / supportive / incredible mum and dad like mine.
From renovating Seven, to my Dad being “Mr Maintenance”, clearing drains and painting and let’s also not forget the endless amounts of washing up you both did 🥴
You have selflessly given up the last 5 years of your retirement to help and we can’t thank you enough for all your help, support and shoulders to cry on when I’ve needed it.
I must also say a big thank you to Debs’ parents for giving up some of their retirement too and helping at Seven.
I know I’ve been waffling on, but I’m nearly there lol…
I must also thank Nick Burgess, who taught us everything we needed to know about coffee shops / coffee and how to make a pizza in an afternoon lol…
Thank you all again for the last 5.5 years and for the opportunity you have given us at the Vale of Pickering.
We cannot comment on what will happen with the cafe onsite but I’m sure Di will update everyone in due course, once a decision has been made.
Thank you all again.
Andy & Deb
