Today I have to say goodbye (for now) to my one and only employee of the past several years, Jervy.
From long prep days to chaotic market mornings, kitchen laughs, last-minute problem solving, heavy lifting, and all the little moments in between, he’s been a huge part of Gastroventures and my daily life here.
He’s helped me with everything from small private dinners and parties to large catering events and even a wedding. No matter the size of the job, he always showed up ready to work hard and help make it happen.
Now he’s heading off to Spain to begin a new chapter with his mom and sister, and while I’m definitely going to miss him around here, I’m also really proud and excited for him.
One of the hardest and most beautiful parts of life in Ecuador is how often people leave in search of new opportunities and a better future for themselves and their families. It takes courage to start over somewhere new.
Jervy, thank you for all your hard work, your patience, your help, and your friendship over these years. Gastroventures would not be what it is without you.
Wishing you nothing but success, happiness, adventure, and good food in Spain.
You’ll always have a place at my table, friend.
