In celebration of the Ramones‘ debut at CBGB 52 years ago today, here‘s Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee and Tommy playing their 27th show as a band, October 31, 1974.

25 out of these 27 gigs the band had played at CBGB‘s at 315 Bowery. For this show, the Ramones shared the stage with Blondie and the „Savage Voodoo Nuns“, featuring Tomata Du Plenty and Arturo Vega, for the first of four Halloween nights at CBGB.

The Ramones were introduced by Tomata Du Plenty, the show was most likely filmed by Black Randy, future frontman of the L.A. band Black Randy And His Metro Squad.

Johnny & Joey Ramone, 1995.

Here‘s Johnny and Joey at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans, opening up for Pearl Jam, September 17, 1995.

The Ramones had just released their farewell album „Adios Amigos“ and didn‘t mind opening shows for big Arena Rock acts like Pearl Jam, oder White Zombie later that year.

Their concert in New Orleans was the last of four September shows with Pearl Jam. For the encore, Joey joined Eddie Vedder on vocals for a cover of the Dead Boys‘ „Sonic Reducer“. Both bands shared they stage again in November 1995, for two nights at San Diego‘s Sports Arena.

Marky & Dee Dee Ramone, 1987.

Here‘s Marky and Dee Dee King signing the latest Ramones album „Halfway To Sanity“, and anything else Ramones fans asked them to put their name on - Tower Records, New York, September 13, 1987.

This was right after two Ramones shows at the Ritz, initially scheduled for August 14 and 15, which had to be postponed due to Richie‘s departure from the band.

After two shows with Clem Burke on drums, Marky Ramone returned in time for the Ritz shows and the release of the new album - which was recorded with Richie in drums. Still, Marky had no problem signing the „Halfway ato Sanity“ copies the fans handed him.

Johnny Ramone, 1979.

Here‘s Johnny playing „Pinhead“ at the Checkerdome in St. Louis, Missouri, November 26, 1979.

1979 was another busy year for the Ramones, with hundreds of shows all across the United States and Canada, „Rock‘n‘Roll Highschool“ in the cinemas and the recording of „End Of The Century“ in May.

1979 was also the year Johnny lost his father Frank William Cummings - while working on the new album. In his autobiography „Commando“ he states:

„On top of dealing with the stress of working with Phil (Spector) on Saturday, May 5, only five days after we’d started recording, I got a call at noon that my father had died. I was devastated. Seymour Stein called me with his condolences, and I said, “At least it’s my ticket out of here.” My dad’s death happened so fast. He was sixty-two, and it was a heart attack.“

Ramones, 1996.

Here‘s Johnny, Joey, Marky and CJ performing together one last time at the Palace Theatre on Vine St. in L.A., August 6, 1996 - 30 years ago today.

It was a weird (final) Ramones show: No backdrop, no fog and the stage as bright as Madison Square Garden.

And all those guests: Lemmy, Rancid, Soundgarden, Dee Dee Ramone, Eddie Vedder - all rushed on stage in between songs to play (or sing) with the band.

But still, the Ramones played all the hits for one last time and closed the show with „Anyway You Want It“, a cover song, written by The Dave Clarke Five - with Eddie Vedder on guest vocals.
