Melissa Ortega is a Berlin-based artist who creates portraits and images in different formats, prints and installations. She experiments with linoleum, sewing, video, serigraphy, drawing, photography and woodblock printing. Her thematic approach lends to an internal-view and self-inspection. Guided by her intuition and background, she turns on recurrent employment of her image, using her own sense of shame to force herself to come through in public. That's why in Melissa's work, the individual and the total, the intimate and the open are primarily interwoven.
